Was a student from 72-76. Walked from apartment in Tigerland (it was new and nice back then) to every home game. Got there 2 hours early and walked back an hour after game was over. Best days of my life. One thing I miss the most, Tiger Football on Saturday night. You will look back one day and wish you realized what an incredible opportunity you have. Don't look back with regret!
I used to walk from the intersection at W Lee and Nicholson. It isn't a bad walk at all.

My last game in TS this happened. Young couple meh, 25-28 in front of us. The guy was 100% fan, none of the above. The wife was doing what they do on the thing. Tigers score, place goes nuts. Guy in front, turns around and high fives me. His woman, seated the whole time, (I shite you not) stands up and says Lynn just texted me and Randy said we made a touchdown.
Had to edit...does this qualify as a millennial?
The guy looked at her with look of resignation. WTF have I done to myself! I gave him another high five.

Students....should....not....leave....early.
you fricks have got plenty of time to party and chase tail after the game. Besides, a Tiger victory gets you that much closer to home base.

The solution is incredibly simple:
1. Students, including greek organizations & clubs scan their IDs upon entry & upon exit, no exceptions. Points are accumulated for football SECCG, bowl game, AND next season ticket lottery. Greek orgs & clubs with best points (based on max available per group) get 1st dibs at next season's section choices. Those under a certain points threshold lose their group tickets for 1 season.
Can/should even include basketball, baseball, gymnastics, & all sports event entry or priority seating to make football attendance that much more "necessary".
2. Promote post-game tailgating to alleviate traffic.

Meh not a bad idea.....but the Greeks/clubs aren't the only ones leaving. The Geritol crowd is moving out as well.

when I was a student I stayed Alma Matter to Alma Matter at every single game. Parties will be there your entire life. You only get 30ish games to support your classmates on the field.

Most of you all will find a reason to bash the student section no matter what happens. "Oh they're leaving at halftime, they need to stay" "we don't like the student section at the basketball game because they're weird" "they need to stop saying vulgar things because it's classless" "they're too drunk" Nothing you all say is going to change anything so let's focus on crushing ole miss this week.
