grandad, how about you come up with the new anti-miles group name and i'll come up with the supporters' name. We'll have a deadline of one week
Go to Oklahoma State and ask around about Miles.
All I want is for someone to say we shouldn't have won more games in 2006 and 2007. One of those teams should have been undefeated with all of that first round talent. that was coaching and now we are paying for a serious lack of player development. That is ALL on the head coach. Winning 9 or 10 weak games means nothing. Just ask Frank Solich.

I'll say it with you. It's like saying a guy is a great race car driver, because his Ferrari wins a race against a Camry. He's in a Ferrari for God sake, isn't he supposed to win?

Negatigers = Coach Haters

I think most people here are pro-LSU but not necessarily pro-Les Miles. Some ranters maybe can't stand him and some may think he is an OK coach but he is in way over his head. Anyway, Negatiger is the wrong term IMO. There has to be a better term. Suggestions please. Also, there has to be a term for the Miles worshippers.
There are certain people in this board who think anything questioning LSU or Miles makes you a "negatiger." Whats interesting, is those people only show up in threads where they can call someone a "negatiger."
So, in the meantime lets all be....

My biggest problem with the sunshine pumpers is the delusional mentality that we who completely disagree with Les Miles' competency as a top SEC head coach is rooted in some form of personal attack and not in RESULTS. Think about this, lets say Les was a terrible, non loyal, poor representative of our school, yet we felt he met or surpassed expectations. I don't think the term negatiger would have ever found this frickin board. Why, because we would feel he is earning his money and leading us in a positive direction despite his personal shortcomings. I don't pay the TAF every year to have Stuart Smalley represent my school in a positive wholesome fashion. I pay TAF so that they make sure that the frickin' Jack Welch of football coaches is leading our school's largest form of revenue stream into an even higher tax bracket. It has nothing to do with hating Miles and everything to do with not believing he a capable CEO. Gas, Grass, or arse. No one rides for free.

Bottom line is LM isn't going anywhere.
Termination agreement too large. I've been forced to come to grips with that & I cheer on my team.
As much as I'd like him to take a infinite leave from his coaching duties & take his staff with him (& LSU hire Gary Patterson or Jim Harbaugh) it isn't going to happen.
I'm as positiger as anyone. I am negaMiles. If Miles gets better, I'll become a fan.
However, posiMileists won't acknowledge his deficiencies until we're in the middle of no where with no flashlight, no compass, no food and no water.

I've been using Miles Apologistsand Blind Loyalists for awhile because I think positigers sounds pretty fricking stupid. FWIW, Negatigers and realitigers sounds pretty fricking stupid, too. I like the idea of using the term "Realitigers" because--I being one--believe that that's all we're dealing with here...at least 85% of the "realitigers" are proud LSU alums/supporters who want the best for their school and feel that Miles doesn't fit that description. But "Realitigers" sounds goofy, so I've been going with "Pragmatigers." I'll get back to you on a name for Miles suporters who continue to pump sunshine and smoke statistics despite the descent of the LSU football program.
Yeah, yeah...51 wins, go root for Alabama, blah, blah, blah.
We know. Piss off.

A lot of people are fooled by smooth talking politicians, and negatigers are fooled by smooth talking football coaches.
Louisiana got royally screwed by that smooth talking Edwin Edwards who totally fooled the people of Louisiana.
Les Miles is not a smooth talking personality, but he obviously knows how to attract a high caliber coaching staff, maintain an elite recruiting program, and maximize wins while dealing with inexperience at QB.
The most important aspect of maintaining an elite college football program is recruiting. Changing coaching staffs is the fastest way to wreck an elite recruiting progam.
That is why fans who call for firing Miles who has kept recruiting at the same high level Saban left is stupid.

I think you're wrong. I think Miles is a heck of a linguist. Didn't you watch the post game interviews after ole miss? It would really suck to have someone leading us that was also a good football coach. And you are dead on wrong on how to wreck an elite program. Losses is the fastest way to do that.

In my current rotation are the following:
Miles Minions
True Believers
Knuckleheads
Feel free to use wherever appropriate. Important to note that I believe these terms apply to only a select few posters. The elites, if you will. The symptoms are as follows:
Miles > Saban
Miles' clock mishaps are actually him thinking on a higher level than the rest of us, re: Georgia this year, Auburn '07.
Miles' offensive mishaps and player mismanagement are really him just not showing his hand yet. Saving things for later.

Is it acceptable criticism (or do you prefer your spelling?) to suggest Les Miles is paid too much to run LSU's football program into the ground? Do I hate LSU because my opinion is that we've only begun to see the decline? Or does it make me a better fan because I prefer not to close my eyes to it?
Should I temper my dissent to satisfy the cloned masses? Or should I not dissent at all?
As a proud citizen of
who served his country honorably and an alumnus (this is the correct tense) of LSU, I believe I not only have the right, but the obligation to dissent.
