Full Moon (Hwy 31 at Patton Chapel Rd)

Fish/Seafood...

Fish Market (Hwy 31...decent, not great)

Salvatores (Hwy 31...Pizza, Calzones)

Other Galleria Area...

J. Alexanders
California Pizza Kitchen
Up the Creek (sucks, IMO)
Styx (Real Good Sushi, Chinese, Japanese)
Some Overrated Italian Chain I can't remember the name of

Chains...

Jason's Deli
Logan's Roadhouse
Applebee's

Best burger in town IMHO is at Firebirds grill in Patton Creek, close to the stadium.

I'll add that...the only time I tried to go there it was closed for a private function. I'll have to give it a shot

Surin 280 is awful. If you want good sushi, go to the original Surin downtown in 5 Points.

Good enough for those of us around here that can't find a decent Cajun place, but probably not good to our Louisiana friends. New Orleans Food and Spirits is better.

Dave's Pizza in Homewood is quite good as well. For good deli food, hit up Momma Goldberg's Deli or O'Carr's. There's also a Zoe's in Patton Creek. Cafe Lazio is a good, relatively inexpensive Italian Place in Patton Creek as well.

Bars around the area:

Gabriels - old hole-in-the wall not far from Regions
Oak Hill Bar and Grill in Homewood - low key, quiet bar
Dave's - One of the best bars in Birmingham. They have one of the best beer selections in town, along with On Tap and J. Clyde

The J. Clyde downtown has some pretty good food and an excellent beer selection. Be warned though, they don't serve Macrobrews, so you won't get Bud Light there.

You know I don't let a little thing like being intoxicated get in my way when I need to go somewhere.
