Hey, I'm "with it" - I'm "hip" - if the kids, out of convenience, laziness, whatever, want to refer to decades by "50s", "60s", whatever (for the record, my post about the various "decades" did follow the popular consensus, though it is by no means universally accepted or conceded), and they neither know or care that there is a "decade" with only 9 years at the beginning of the system, that's fine - I know and care.

Let's just call it 2000-2010. A little bit of compromise for people to stop b!tching at each other...

It is 2000-2009

The number, zero, was brought to Europe from India by 800 CE. Time to get used to it. It may be true that the year 2000 is only 1999 years from 1 CE, but our calendar routinely varies the number of days in a year, and on at least one occasion, "jumped" two weeks to correct rounding errors. We can deal with a 9 year decade (1-9) if it makes our system make more sense (and it does). Decades start with the zeros. 2000-2009.
(What a sad first post.)

Ace, this level of detail separates those who think critically from those who do not. It demonstrates why some people will still defend a coach who can't manage the clock or doesn't know when to attempt a 2 pt. conversion versus when not to attempt. BTW, on another thread some guy with the LNCHBOX handle actually said from 1/01/1 to 1/01/10 is ten years. For all I know, the guy could be an insurance actuary.

ETA: LSUMafia did clarify the whole debate by showing the date range from 2000-2009. Probably the smartest thing anyone's done in this whole debate.
