The new year is only 14 hours old and we have our first nomination for "Negatiger of the Year."

So saying we had a disappointing season (which we did) and saying it doesn't mean much in the long run (which it doesn't) makes him a negatiger? Only the Rant.

What's wrong? Are you all trying to "raise" the qualifying? Worried about the crowd over there?

Yes, it does. I agree that this season was disappointing. Get over it and look to the future. We just gobsmacked a Top-15 team, a team that some said that we had no chance against, and people are still finding things to complain about.

Beating GT doesn't erase any of the 5 losses. It's a great win and a lot of fun to have seen, but it doesn't change the fact that this season was a disaster. I don't think there's anything wrong with complaining about an 8-5 record at LSU.

It's the fact that you choose to dwell on the negatives as being the wave of the future, and not the more recent POSITIVES as possibly a glimpse of the future. Truth be told, there's very little telling what the future holds for next year's team....

hence: NEGA-tiger!

Gee whiz! I'm not happy with 5 losses, either, but at least we went out ON A WINNING NOTE!!! Coach Miles has taken steps to correct the deficiencies of 2008, we have a young quarterback who has shown he can play ball, and, for now at least, have the NUMBER ONE recruiting class in the nation.

I'm really not all that angry.

Thanks for the concern, though.

What's wrong with it is: WHAT IS THE POINT?!?! This season is over! Are you not capable of looking forward, not backward??? My God, how long are we going to piss and moan about what has already happened?? It serves NO PURPOSE.

Please, please explain to me what possible good comes out of continually focusing on the negative. If you can't see that some positives came out of last night then you seriously need counseling or something. Or at the very least, get drunk quick.

It's always good, and believe me I celebrated the frick out of it. I'm just saying that calling people negatigers, after saying you aren't happy with 5 losses too (which is essentially what he did), is hypocritical and a little ridiculous.

Momma, you fit the bill of ranter perfectly. Just because you choose to ignore the losses doesn't mean they didn't happen, despite how hard you're trying.

I made 2009 predictions, so I am.

Watch me flip this:

If you can't see the negatives from this season, you're in denial. Some people take EVERYTHING into account, not just the positives. I guess it's okay if your significant other cheats on you, as long as they still kiss you at night.

Talk about fricked up logic! Of course I'm not happy with five losses, but I'm not dwelling on them. I believe the future is bright in Tiger Town. If you don't understand the difference between this and "our win last night really doesn't mean anything," then I just don't know what to say.

You need your memory or search skills checked.

I very clearly told you the other day that I was VERY disappointed in this season, and in certain games specifically. I am ignoring NOTHING. I am just not ready to assume this team is going straight downhill like a log-flume ride at 6 Flags like you are!

Wow. I absolutely have no answer to this.

Sure it was. For all of us. But instead of dwelling on a half-empty glass, let's be glad there is definite progress toward a return of the Tiger in 2009. JJ and new coaching, returning talent and a super recruiting class are all reasons to celebrate, not mope.
