Are you aware that Ole Miss Defense >>> Alabama defense?
Not when it comes to run D Bama is better... Plus Bama runs the ball WAY better than Ole Miss..........
I'd take Bama's D over Ole Miss.
I think LSU stands a good chance but it will be a low scoring game.

I think we can run in the 200s again, and 8/16 for 146 or whatever it was will be fine as long as it doesn't come with two interceptions and we don't fumble inside the 5 or anything like that.
Jeff Driskel was 9/28 for 93 yards, and that was a tie game until 5 minutes left in the third quarter. Florida really could have won that game with another 100 yards rushing, 10 fewer incompletions (if you reduce it to 18 to give Driskel 50% completions), and 3 fewer turnovers.

even when we win a big game....it is never good enough for you guys....you guys are the true blue collar workers in life, and will never be leaders...you just don't have that big picture, leadership type quality.......not a bad thing...just a fact.
You kidding me?? You just resorted to saying we're not leaders. You sir, are a fricking moron. Sorry we'd like to see good quarterback play and Jennings ain't giving us that right now. Sorry you're blind as frick.

Something tells me that if Jennings goes 8-16 and we beat Bama you'll be pissed regardless. Or 10-16. Or 15-20. There will be something wrong, I know that.

And where the hell have you been the last 10 years???? We've won more games with number worse than that than you could possibly count.
Defense, Special Teams, Win the Line of Scrimmage. It's not pretty but it is freaking effective... especially when you have young QBs...

On Sunday it will be "I know this, we aren't beating Arkansas if we can't insert issue here better"

nah, it takes a more creative passing game, like A&M's, to beat Bama...

Bama has a much more dangerous offense and a tougher run defense. This will be an extremely tough game. We are going to need to have a few lucky bounces to control the game. I think Sims' running ability is being over looked. I'm worried about him just scrambling around.
Our offense just needs to stay on the field. The only stat that you should care about is 3rd down conversion.

You mean we can't beat the team that got beat by the team we just beat? We domdominated OM although the score didn't reflect that. Bama is not what they were last year. If you are impressed by their win against Tennessee then I can't help you.

So how remind me, how many touchdowns did they win by against Ole Miss?

"These wins at home are nice, but it's a whole different ball game when you have to go on the road against a divisional opponent."

We have 2 loses because of bad qb play.
We gonna beat bama.
We gonna beat bama.

Yeah it will always puzzle me how people not only can't enjoy the moment at all without saying how what we're doing or what we did somehow won't be adequate in the long-run while glossing over the positives and dwelling on negatives but also seem to almost purposefully forget that we've won a shite ton of games over the last decade in the face of mediocre to shitty QB play.

He couldn't against Auburn, and that is a fact. He wasn't/maybe still isn't ready....and it is worth the risk to you when we have a formula that we know we can win with?
How many points to AJ get us in relief against Auburn? What did AJ do against Auburn that has you so convinced that even on his average day he is better than Harris on his worst day. I know that on AJ's worst day (New Mexico State), Harris came in and the offense exploded. I know that on AJ's second worst day, Harris came in and nearly pulled off a shocker. There is no doubt that Harris disappointed against Auburn. But he has also showed flashes of something special. On Harris' bad day against Auburn, AJ came in and completed half of his passes and scored zero points. Par for the course.
The risk point is a fair one. It's the hardest question to answer. Harris is perhaps (and this is debatable) more likely to make mistakes but also more likely to give us a multi-faceted dynamic offense that can feed off of itself. Whereas Jennings seems to have a better grasp of the offense (in part because he is getting the snaps and the reps). I am not completely sold that he is less likely to turn the ball over since the both have about the same interception percentage (even though one of Harris' two came on the hail mary v. Miss State). I think it is a close question right now as to who should play v. Bama. I don't think the question would have been very close though if Harris and Jenning's reps had been flip-flopped.
As I have acknowledged before, I don't fault Miles for sticking with AJ in this game, even if I think he should have made the switch more permanent a few weeks ago.

never said that....what I said is that there is more to this than you know....
Maybe there is more to this than you know. The same lack of information critique is there. It's an admitted blind spot for my side of the argument but if you are banking on it as dispositive, you have to justify Welter/Beckwith and Martin/Adams. the coaches "safe" (i.e., experienced) bet has not always worked.

the Auburn experience wasn't some out of the blue performance....
Now you are speculating.

so you think Bama is going to shut us down, even though they couldn't shut Tenn or Arky down from running the ball? That's where you lose me. this isn't bama 2011...by a long shot...plus, Jennings will have an opportunity to beat them deep. One wouldn't expect us to turn the ball over nearly as much....and like my prediction for Ole Miss...I think this is a game where LSU can win going away....obviously miscues prevented us from doing that against Ole Miss...but the opportunity was there
Here's what I think. I think the defense played its absolute best game of the season Saturday night. It was a masterpiece. It was so awesome. I will rewatch it eight times or more to marvel at that performance. But I do not expect that to happen again. It was nearly flawless. It was the game where you said, "my god we have sick talent, even though they are so young." But we cannot ask the defense to be perfect.
I think Bama's RBs are better than Ole Miss'. It will be interesting to see if Cam Robinson plays (and it looks like he won't) but I think the Bama oline is more talented than Ole Miss'. I think the Cooper = Treadwell and the rest of the Bama WRs are on par with Ole Miss.
The key then is whether Blake Simms can avoid being rattled like Bo Wallace was. Wallace was terrible Saturday night. He really was. He is a better QB than Simms, but Simms can learn from Wallace's error in succumbing to the big stage.
When we are on offense, I predict Bama will have early effectiveness at shutting down the run. I believe Bama will double up on Dural. Can Jennings make them pay for this before Bama gets a double digit lead? That will be the key. If he throws picks and if he is ineffective converting third and longs, it could be a long night.
I think that is a rough scenario for LSU. Because we need not only the defense to stay stout, but we need Jennings to do something he has not done in 9 games.
I know, I know, people were saying the same thing about Ole Miss. You know what, people were also expecting us to blow out Miss State. It's college football. Strange things happen. But it takes more than one game to make a trend.

Yes you were and your failure to acknowledge it is telling. The alternative is a bizarre non-sequitur, which I don't believe. You lumped me in with every irrational negatiger because I have a different opinion than you, despite my concession to you that you have some rational points. I'm a perfectly rational person; passionate about LSU to be sure, but not a hot head. And I try best I can to respect fellow posters who make valid points, even when I disagree. (And for the record, I'm as white collar as it gets)
