You're arguing semantics to take a shot at Miles. In this down SEC, he goes at least 6-2. Is that better for you?

It's not semantics at all because the word easily is a significant substantive modifier. And no, I don't agree that Miles would go "at least 6-2." I think Miles certainly could have lost to Auburn, Ms. State, and Alabama.

And to suggest that is in no way "taking a shot at Miles." In your haste to dismiss O's record though perhaps you see it that way.

He could have done it as easily as O. He was fired to make us better, was he not? That's not me saying he should be back. It's me questioning why everyone is happy at this point in the season with the results we currently have.

Agreed.

Which is a fair point and fine by me to bring up. I literally only took issue with the statement that Miles would have easily gone 6-2 this year if still coach.

I disagree. Miles would have beat Troy, but I think loses to auburn , miss state, bama, and likely Florida . I'm basing that off of the stale offense miles would be running. It beat up on inferior talent but was starting to be easily stopped with equal talent. He'd be 4-4 in sec, 7-4 overall and a weak December bowl, which was starting to be the trend with him.

State doesn't have equal talent, UF is garbage this year, Miles never lost to Auburn at home (including their very good 2013 squad) so he gets the benefit of the doubt there.

So just as easily as you dismiss Miles at 4-4, I see him at potentially 7-1.

I doubt a Miles coached team beats either FLA or AU.....

, why would a Miles coached team lose to Auburn at home? He literally never lost to them at home in his career.

And this UF team is soo bad, I doubt he loses that game either.

I'm confident Miles and company would have gone 6-2 in conference, at least, and they would not have lost to Troy.

I don't think you realize how many inexplicable losses to inferior SEC opponents Miles had in his last 4 years as LSU's head coach. The word "easily" doesn't exist with Miles.

Idk I think he would have had this team undefeated going into bama. It's the games after losing to bama his teams would struggle with.

LSu still needs to show up an play these last 3 games.

This literally has nothing to do with how he might have done this year.

Miles would have lost to Aurburn. We tried running straight up the middle at them and this year their defense was not allowing that to work at all. Miles would have kept doing it anyway because that's his offensive style. We won because we were willing and able to do something else.

It gives you a pretty good idea about how the rivalry has gone.

I completely disagree, but even if he did, he's not losing to Troy and MSU. LSU is still 6-2 in the SEC, and 10-2 overall.

Not even remotely the same.

You are 100% correct.

Saban in his first year was not playing over 20 true and redshirt fresmen. He didn't have to start 8 true freshmen that year either. Dinardo left Saban a loaded cupboard.
