INDIANAPOLIS — As the first group of offensive linemen and specialists conducted 40-yard dashes Saturday, one prospect who stood out — in more ways than one — was LSU’s Trindon Holliday.
Holliday, a 5-foot-5 return man who has a track background, is one of the fastest players at the NFL Scouting Combine, and he quickly proved it. He posted unofficial times of 4.27 and 4.32 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
“That … is … fast,” quipped NFL.com analyst Bucky Brooks, who was standing next to me.
But it’s not as fast as Holliday had hoped. He said Thursday that his goal was to run in 4.23 seconds, bettering current Titans RB Chris Johnson’s combine record of 4.24.
Holliday is running with the specialists because he has no true position, although he will also participate in Sunday’s wide receiver drills. Brooks pointed out to me, though, that Holliday likely will only be a return specialist in the NFL.

IMO, only the Top 8 guys on that list COULD be faster than Trindon.
Darrell Green, Deion, and possibly Bo and Ginn are the only ones IMO that looked as fast as Trindon when they were actually playing in a game.

So is Trindon offically gonna attempt to play football in the NFL? He's not gonna persue a track career??

from Adam Schefter:
There's smoke coming off the track: LSU WR Trindon Holliday just recoreded one of fastest 40-yard dashes ever run in Indy, a blazing 4.22.

if he has in fact run a 4.22, that would be the fastest official time ever at the combine?

I would guess he doesn't have a big endorsement offer right now to entice him into pro track...Olympics are 2 years away, so why not try to collect a few paychecks in the NFL.

I thought he was going to run indoor track this year, what happened ?
Also, no one seems to be reporting a 4.22 other than Adam... I just keep seeing 4.27

If he ran a 4.22, it is not one of the fastest , It would be the fastest. It would set the record. Chris Johnson held the old record at 4.24 seconds set last year.
