Saban went 13-1 and Les went 12-2....

Remember that Saban did a belly-flop in Miami after that great dive in 2003. Miles has sort of done one this year. At least Miles stuck with the LSU program and is taking his lumps the year following the NC.

If the past is an indication, IF Bama wins a NC this year or next, will he chunk Bama and head for some other program? And if so, after the (possible) drop-off the following year, will he throw in the towel and bolt for "green pastures" somewhere else because of flak from the Bama supporters? If Saban wins the NC and then fails to do so in subsequent years, will the Bama supporters provide the stakebody to carry him out of T-Town, or will they be patient with him like the LSU fans ought to be with Miles?

It's a legitimate question.
I don't think the comparison is valid though
I don't think the comparison is valid or the question is legitimate, because the significant characteristic of Coker is that the decline was both immediate and steady from the first season on: 12-0 National Champions led to 12-1 runner-ups, 12-1 runner-ups led to 11-2, 11-2 led to 9-3, etc., etc. Miles has already avoided that trend: 11-2 #5 led to 11-2 #3, 11-2 #3 led to 12-2 National Champions. So at this point, even if his performance should (god forbid) eventually fall into failure, he does not aptly compare to Coker because he did maintain/improve for more than a single season.

If he goes 41-9 again, or something very close to it, then I think no one can criticize him
There will be almost exactly the same number of people criticizing him then as there are now, because there is no rational criticism of his performance as a whole at this point. The only people critical of Miles' performance as LSU head coach are the LSU fans who just hate seeing anyone enjoying success and other teams' fans who just hate LSU being successful. And neither group has a rational point upon which to base any such criticism.

First off I don't think Bama will beat UF in SECCG. Second, Bama will lose at least two next year after this class. Third, if anyone paid to go to a shithole school in a shithole town in the middle of nowhere Mississippi, then you should not ever listen to one arguement ever made by this person. Oxford, MS is a 1940's town square, with 4 streets off that square leading to nowhere. I know BR isn't NYC, but its a far cry from Mayberry.
