Not bashing Wet here, but who thinks this position is going to be a revolving door for a while?

Personally, I think we need to give it to Didier.. but what do I know. Mainieri sees them a lot more than any of us.

I'm pretty sure he will make the right moves,

Hanover back to 3rd, Katz to 2nd.

i bet he tests that at some point. Or Katz to 3rd outright

I'd prefer Katz at 3rd, Hanover is a much better 2B than 3B

I actually liked Hanover at 3rd, he never had trouble making the throw to first with his rocket of an arm

I think Dozar should get another shot. He had 2 throwing errors last time, but he's got a good glove and he can hit.

You think Katz plays before Dozar?

The fielding percentage of every guy who has played 3rd this year is really low.

I think we gotta look at their bats here b/c defensively none of them have shown anything. Except for the fact the Delatte's fielding % is REALLY bad so far.

Agreed.

Agreed again and there have been several balls that Wet doesn't get a glove on that are scored hits. In the 3rd or 4th inning tonight a ball was hit hard and it went right over his glove into left field for a hit. IMO, he should have gotten a glove on that one.

I think its agreed that Delatte is definitely the weakest of the 3 in competition for 3rd

We all want him to succeed and I hope he does, but I agree. Mainieri gave him the public "vote of confidence" and told him the job was his for the foreseeable future to take some pressure off of him. I wonder how long it will last?

hard to say, but probably a better full time option, unless PM isn't worried about his backup catcher possibly getting hurt. I dont know, he could be flexible with that, i really dont know. That was just my thought.

Didier has hit pretty well, but he has looked bad in the field.

Delatte just looks lost at the plate.

thats what he ended up doing last year with the talented Freshman. Not to say Katz is ready to hit better than Didier or Dozar, but overall he may be better than both at 3rd

I don't think we're gonna get great play throughout the year by any of the 3 or 4

platooning might be the best option...and I agree that we should just go with the best hitter, cause none have played good d

I didn't consider the backup catcher injury thing, but I don't think PM will worry about that.

Yes and yes. Plus Delatte does not appear to be a good defensive player either. PM alluded to this preseason and we figured his hitting would make up for the lack of defense--we'll see. There are many balls that he is simply not getting to. Wednesday night he needed to cut off a ball before it got to SS and he couldn't make the play.

Dozar and Katz were both very talented middle infielders in high school, right? I'd think that PM would go with Dozar first, but who knows? Again, I had not considered the backup catcher angle. It is not like last year when Ochinko played 1B and we still had Dozar as a backup catcher. BTW, I heard the other day that Luquette was kicked off the team.

Dozar's horrid throw on a give up sac bunt soured me on him. He can hit though.

Wet just needs to stay out of Grace's. Running the roads a lil' too much.

Let's not give up on him. It doesn't look like either of the other 2 options so far are going to be good defensive thirdbasemen. I think Dozar can be a good fielder and hit.
