say maybe our last game. How'd that make you feel watching that shitshow for a passing attack?
65% comp rate is shitshow? Studs was just taking what the D was giving. That's not an unheard of concept.
Your remedy to that game would've been taking your unrefined pass attack up against the #1 Pass D in the nation?
Yea, what were they thinking? Everybody was killing the Gumps with the pass all season.

Well if JJ knew how to read the field he would have been passing to an open tight end instead of making OBJ make a circus catch to get 10yds...

Looking forward to an aerial circus... Want to see 300 yds through the air, and beating Bama, Arkansas and Auburn by three TD's in the process.

4.8 YPC is not exactly lighting it up

What exactly was the D giving them again?

Hence this is what Mett brings to the table. You kind of just proved my point

Some things you can't appreciate from the stands or recliners. Do you force it into a dirty lane, or take the safe play? Could be it was levels progression where short man is always 1st look, idk. What I do know is I'd be reserved in my contempt of a player or coaching staff that have accomplished way more than I ever have or will.

Some of us need to accept LSU lost and move on, like good sportsmen do.
LSU was out-executed in plenty areas besides QB.
The D got killed with the hi-lo pass game also and really had no answer for it.
OL and RBs lost the LOS and didn't really have the refined pass attack to overcome it. You can't just magically come up with a well oiled pass machine when you've focused on the run and PA all year.

This thread isn't about the past. It's about looking forward...

I'm not the one that started talking about all of that.

I'm just looking forward to seeing an efficient and fun to watch passing offense. I think having that threat will really open up the offense.

Only if you think all it takes for a refined pass attack is a successful JUCO QB.

Mett has talent, MUCH more than the previous two QB's. If you can't see it....not sure what to tell you.

A benefit to not having the QB heavily involved in the run is more reps in the short game.
We could use this next time we face the likes of 1-9-12 to beat Nicky's blitzes with some 3 step, like UNC almost beat LSU with in '10.

Lee had to have a couple in '08. Georgia and Troy maybe?

Yep. 353 yards. He had 2 300 yard games.

If my math is correct that equal 6 of JJ's average games.

Lsu fans are used to seeing 97 yard and 104 yard passing numbers.

300 yards passing? I'll believe it when I see it.

[quote]With our defense you get plenty of short fields. Couple that with a strong running game that burns clock and turf and 300 yards passing becomes highly unlikely.[/quote

Exactly. Anyone whom thinks we just plug in Mett on Jan9th and we win, don't know football. Pretty much every player on the offensive line was getting pushed backwards. JJ , a mobile qb , was running for his life. All game. Just changing the qb wasn't gonna make us 21 points better. Bama was the better team on Jan9th. They had nothing to lose and played like it.
