that was the peak years of LSU football. The 2005, 2006, and 2007 seasons were the glory years if you will. MIles was at his peak in those years and there was no match for him in college football coaching circles.
but then those years faded as we went 8-5 (unranked), and 9-4 (ranked 17th), then we made a comeback in 2010 (11-2 #8) and 2011 (13-1 #2), then the slide started.
you might say the LSU glory years were 2003 to 2011. Before 2003 we weren't all that good and after 2011 we weren't very good either, though did have a 8-5 season right in the middle of it.
Now that the slide has leveled off and we are back in the top 10 at #6, lets see what the 2019 season brings. I think we will have a better team in 2019, and a good shot at a better record and perhaps better ranking. We just got to see how things play out. I may not be as optimistic as Rick but who knows.

Why was sec record so meaningful in 2017 but not 2018?
