3 Consecutive LSU football coaches to win the Nat'l Championship

Saban = check
Miles = check
Orgeron = tbd?
Yes, it is an uphill battle to get Coach O to lead us to the Natty, but it certainly IS possible.
If this happens, it will be the first time this has happened since the Schnellenberger-Johnson-Erickson at Miami (If not for Butch Davis, since Coker did it as well, they would have 4 or 5 coaches in a row to win it all).
Either way, in modern football (last 25 years or so), if Coach O can pull this off, what kind of statement would that be about the modern-day LSU football program?

The problem is Orgeron is a bottom 3 coach in the SEC currently

The man has only 1 game under his belt as the full time LSU coach. Lets support him and see what he can do.

And we looked damn fine in that one game, as well.

He may not be the top-3 technical coaches, but when considering motivation, recruiting, asst coaching recruiting and overall "CEO" duties, he is in the top half overall. His talent and asst coaches, along with what he brings, makes this a possibility. Miles certainly did not have the technical skills, but he was able to put together the overall formula to get it done. Luck is always part of the formula. Coach O can get this done.

Completely agree with your assessment. Thing is so many negatigers forget this when evaluating Eaux and try to compare him to Saban or Meyer which is ridiculous, Miles and Eaux aren't the hands on/Bill Belichick-type technical coaches they want for some weird reason. Another thing is he's one of the lowest paid HCs in the SEC with an incentive-based contract and his assistants make more than he does, that's the dynamic that LSU wants for their current team and it's likely correct considering their coaching staff composition.

If Miles can win one, Orgeron certain can. Orgeron improved LSU by leaps and bounds immediately after taking over.

All Miles had to do was relent on his offensive involvement and hire a QB recruiting/developing guru, and he would possible have won it twice and still be at the helm. Orgeron knows how to adapt and learn from Miles, so that gives him a huge advantage, especially if he continues this awesome recruiting of players and Coordinators and keeps sticking to his real talents - recruiting, motivating and program coordination.

He's one of the lowest paid coaches in the SEC because he had zero leverage in negotiating, there was no other teams competing for his services.

What a stupid, fricking made up classification.

This is stupid. Miles actually had head coaching success before being hired by LSU. Miles was a very good coach. His stubbornness is the reason why he was fired.

The last time he coordinated a program, well, it wasn't pretty.

I like how you are trying to say wanting a coach who can actually, you know, coach is a bad thing...well played
