We need to be looking to hit the 3-1 pitch, not looking for the walk. 3 or 4 batters have already missed or taken a grooved fastball.

Agreed. And their pitcher doesn’t walk many batters.

Baseball's situational. If you don't want your 3rd baseman swinging at their pitch with a 3-1 count and a runner in scoring position, then the wrong guy is in the lineup. I'm not saying that he is the wrong guy and I'm not saying that you don't have discipline in that situation, I'm saying you're looking for your pitch because that's a great count.
