Every team in D1 has a worse QB position than LSU compared to Burrow

The key now is you utilize Brennan strengths to help you win football games in the SEC. I would much rather a Jr with experience under center than an incoming fr that is raw and has to learn the playbook.

FSU was the perfect example back in the Bowden days. He would have a Jr/Sr QB and when his time was up, another Jr waiting in the wings was ready to step in.

Brennan as a 2 year starter allows Finley or Johnson to take their time and compete for the job in two years.

I still think we will be great at the position but Jefferson is an animal and had experience, there really was nowhere to go but down a tad

The way I see it is the wide receiver room will be the best in the SEC.

The running back room will be as good or better than everyone else in the SEC.

The tight end room is by far the best in the SEC.

The offensive line should be at least as good as last season's offensive line.

With all the elite weapons on the field simultaneously at the same time, the QB should be the best in the SEC

The defensive front seven will be as good or better than everyone else.

The defensive backfield will be the best in the SEC.

QB: Worse (but still the best QB we've had since Mett (excluding Burrow))
RB: slightly worse from an experience perspective, but still top or very close to top in the SEC.
WR: Push (simply because I can't see them being BETTER. still best in the SEC)
Oline: ? If this ends up being a push, we are going to be a very good team.

Dline: Better
LB's: Worse
DB's: Push
I think Defense as a whole will improve compared to last year.

Qb: ? We don't know. Brennan looked as good in mop up duty as Burrow did in 2018. Maybe he will take the leap.
Rb: I expect the running backs to be more productive. What did we expect out of CEH this time last year. Curry looked like a starter compared to his production early in the season.
Wr: equal or better Marshall should be healthier and another years experience. Palmer is faster than Jefferson. If he works over the summer he should be special. Then there is Boutte .
Te:better Gilbert and he may not start.
O line: equal
Brennan is not yet Burrow but we could be more explosive in some areas because of the speed of skilled players.
Dline: better More experienced depth
LB:worse
Cb:equal

How about we stop placing the current players in the shadow of last season's greatness. Only a few here were confident in the quality of last year's athletes in Feb. And I will wager that NOT A SINGLE SOUL knew just how talented and productive they would be even after the first game.

Every player on the team has the potential for greatness. Don't squander your excitement and ambition about next season looking to the past.

QB: Worse -- we lost the best College QB ever.
RB: Even. We're in good hands.
WR: Better -- Losing Jet hurts, but two stud WRs with a ton of experience, the nations number 1 incoming (and highest ever rated) TE and strong WR classes the last few years (including this year) will prop this unit.
Oline: Worse -- we've got shoes to fill from the best OLine in the country, but we'll be solid still.

Dline: Better
LB's: Worse -- hard losing Divinity, Queen and Phillips (a year after losing White) doesn't help. Baskerville, Clark and younger folks are going to need to step up and quick.
DB's: No school reloads their DBs better than LSU. We'll be fine.

Let's start at the foundation, how the OL performs will be the determining factor in how good the offense will be in 2020. We are replacing 4 starters from 2019.

Deculus has 26 starts in 2 yrs
Ingram has 12 starts (2 last year)
Rosenthal has 3 starts
Hines has 1 start

Deculus and Ingram should be solid.

Rosenthal had his moments, but also did not play well at times. His quickness is a big question mark.

Hines had issues with snapping, often floating the ball back to Brennan disrupting the timing of plays. Although he did seem to improve as the year went along, he still had several floaters in the Oklahomo game.

The empty slot will be manned with a player who does not have much in the way of game experience.

Injuries at OT and OC could be devastating.

RT: Deculus - Deculus Improvement
RG: Lewis - ???? Worse
C: Cush - Hines Worse
LG: Magee - Ingram Improvement
LT: Charles - Rosenthal Worse

QB: Worse.
RB: Worse, but with better depth.
WR: Push. McMath will be a beast.
Oline: Tough one. I'd say slightly worse.

Dline: Better.
LB's: Worse.
DB's: Better. We will be so versatile on the back end.
