Was only ranked 7th nationally, but take a look at who we got in this class:

Jacoby Stevens
Tyler Shelvin
Jacob Phillips
Justin Jefferson
Ed Ingram
Austin Deculus
Saahdiq Charles
K’lavon Chaisson
Grant Delpit
Kary Vincent
Patrick Queen
Clyde Edwards-Helaire
Todd Harris
Neil Farrel

Oh my god was that class STACKED! Not bad for O’s first recruiting class

It’s the best class in LSU history regardless of ranking

Almost everyone in that class ended up a starter. Myles Brennan is in that class too. Fantastic scouting by our coaches

Les Miles staff was good at evaluating but Coach O's staff has been really good.

It has proven to be a class of Savages, what only 7th? I think a re-rank is in order!!!

They move up to to at least 4th. USC, FSU and Michigan fall below them.

And were still here for the most part for this class (minus Les and Cam, not many others IIRC).

But holding together that class was as good a recruiting effort as Orgeron has done at LSU prior to the upcoming signing class, IMO.

Someone wasn’t an LSU fan in 2001 then. No class will ever compare to that one. Greatest ever.

Marquis Hill
Ben Wilkerson
Andrew Whitworth
Michael Clayton
Joseph Addai
Marcus Spears
Rudy Niswanger
Melvin Oliver
Travis Daniels
Shyrone Carey
Jonathon Banks

What's wrong with 7th, compared to the following year?

You must not know how this works.
You don't really think he recruited that whole class during 4 months in the midst of a struggling season?

Ed did a good job keeping it together from Oct 1st '16 to Jan 31st '17, but Miles staff (including Ed) put the majority of leg work in far prior to Ed cashing in.
