That 2017 year every time you threw to Greedy he was liable to pick you off

Nope. Anyone who thinks Stingley was as good last year as White was his senior year has no idea what he’s looking at.

You can’t go by interceptions; that’s how Johnnie Poe, one of the worst starting corners in the league, ended up all pro.

Wrong. Tre white's best year at LSU was his senior year. He had 2 ints and 14 passes defended. White had 6 ints during his LSU career. Stingley during his freshman season had 6 ints and 15 passes defended. He could've had more ints honestly. Tre White was a great Tiger and is one of the best corners in the NFL but at LSU, Stingley has been the best of the 3.

I always thought Tre White was just decent and would need to come back as a senior if he didn't want to go second round at best. He convinced me in that senior year. He was a complete shutdown corner. Greedy was great cover corner and ball hawk in 2017, and Stingley played the ball in the air better than anybody. It's hard for me to decide which was the best because tbey all brought different things to the table.

Based on body of work, Tre is obviously #1 because he didn't have a down year and started multiple years. Greedy is #2 because he has played more than one year, although I think Stingley immediately changes that this year.

10 should be Fulton in 2019. His stats basically say nobody would throw at him. That’s a great season in itself

It's really hard to compare stats in that way. You have to base those numbers off of total targets. There are advanced metrics that look for pass rating when targeted.

As for advanced metrics - PFF rated Stingley’s season as the most valuable season any non-QB has ever had since they started covering college football in 2014. So yes, Stingley has a better year than Tre or Greedy or any CFB corner since at least 2014 for that matter.

I think everyone is always Overly hesitant to not succumb to recency bias - especially with a young guy as we’ve been burned by let downs before after such promising starts to careers.

But it’s warranted with Stingley. He really was that good. Patrick Peterson is his Target. I think he is already better than every other CB we’ve ever had, and he very well could be better than PP

I'll put PP's 09 season as a cover CB on par with any we've seen at LSU. his 2010 wasn't too shabby either.

if anyone knows where to see his advanced stats, please link it.

Meh I think Corey Webster or even Fulton in 18 was better

Kris was hurt and got worked vs Texas and Clemson. I know Stingley got his against Florida and Bama but Stingley had 6 INts and played his best in the final 3 games when it meant the most
