Maybe us rabid out-of-towners will be able to come to BR LA, and Tiger Stadium, in 2012. = )

Sadly half the stadium will be empty by halftime, if not earlier than that.

Maybe we'll get to see Steven Rivers play... or Randal.... or both, I suspect.

Whomever our 5th string RB is will probably get the bulk of the carries, 'cause the "big 4" will probably be done by half.

And the resident hand-wringing super fans will be able to come on here afterward and tell us how our fanbase is now a bunch of spoiled "corporate" types, unlike 'back in the day', when there would have been a packed house screaming at the top of their lungs causing seismographs to move in the geology building, up 60 points with one minute to go against Towson.

It's like a win-win-win-win situation. Everybody gets something out of it.

THe purpose of course, was to keep the monies in-state.

I've never understood that argument.

If we pay a lower tier school from Louisiana or we pay a rent a win from pout of state we pay the same money. If the state school plays LSU or some other BCS school they get paid.

Unless LSU pays too much for cupcakes it doesn't matter as we play and they play the same number of games.

NSU playing Bama or LSU should be the same for NSU, Troy playing LSU or Bama should be the same for Troy.

Except that IF LSU played NSU, ULL, Southeastern, Northeastern, etc. ---- more of their fans would come to BR and would be in town a day or 2 -- spending $$ on hotels, meals, etc.

When ULL, etc. travel out of town -- that $$ goes to whatever State they are playing in, not Louisiana.

Teams -- like Towson are not going to bring fans to BR -

For example --- McNeese students and fans were thrilled to play at LSU -- and they bought up every ticket they had available through their school.

If North Texas brings 1000 I'd be surprised.... Idaho even less... Towson... if 300 fans make that trip I'd be surprised.

I may be wrong -- but it's going to be a LOW number no matter what.

Does anyone remember people discussing prior to both the Arky and Georgia games how we would be left out of everything if we lost either one of those games when we had accomplished BY FAR more than any other one loss team?

I remember most people saying the SECCG didn't even matter because LSU was in regardless of the outcome, based on their resume. We got tons of play for our difficult schedule. We would have gotten more had we needed it. Fortunately, as the only unbeaten, there was no need to go too deep into our schedule. Without a tough schedule, we would have been left out in both 2003 and 2007.

The schedulers thought it was pronounce "Too-sahn" and thought they were scheduling the University of Arizona from Tucson.
