lulz

I'm not in love with Saban, but that doesn't make 10 > 03 a correct statement.

As of now 03 had better DEs( hill and spears)
LB corps is a push
10 Dbs are better by a mile

07 was banged up a bit by the end of the year.

who's the best defensive player in these years?

They may think they are better than '03 (which I don't mind) they have a lot to prove to actually be better than '03. Again, they may even be deeper than '03 but they have a lot to show to end up being better than those guys. That D was pretty special.

Ahh, another irrational Saban-hater.

Let it go, dude. He was a great coach for us, yet an a-hole, but still made LSU relevant again...at least enjoy those years, it's LSU Tigers, not "Saban" Tigers or "Miles" Tigers.

Damn, 03 has some awesome stats. I didn't realize they were *that* good.

It would be awesome to think that this years d could be in the same league as team.

'03 was better at this point, although this year's team does find it useful to go ahead and cover a RB out of the backfield.

Two things stood out to me that year regarding our D outside of plays on the field...

ESPN gameday did a report on our D and all the blitz packages, and Stoops arguing w/ the sideline reporter at halftime of the NC game about who had the #1 defense.

He was pissed she called LSU the #1 defense. Stoops.

2010 > 2007

2003 is the "modern era" benchmark and there's still a lot of football to be played, so we'll have to wait to see how 2010 stacks up at the end of the year to really try to compare this year's defense to 2003. The one thing that stands out to me about the 2010 version is the overall depth and team speed which I think is greater than even the 2003 team.
