USC's defense is a tad over-rated every year

Out of the 11 starters on defense we have 5 and possibly 6 future 1st rounders. This will be our best defense under CPC. All 11 starters will be drafted.

I believe USC had better stats in most areas last year on D and that was playing in an offense driven league.

Since USC plays in a league with little or no defense, they can control the ball and time of possession while their defense can sleepwalk to another conference championship.

The fact that one program can dominate a conference year in and year out proves how powerful the PAC-10 really isn't.

Disclaimer: This post by BAD CAT both states and implies that the TROJAN FOOTBALL FORUM is the biggest collection of overly protected rich boys in the nation. They will tolerate no facts that imply USC or the PAC-10 is anything but the best in everything. Responsibility for negative interpretations will lie solely with the reader or responder if he or she chooses to make such an interpretation. BAD CAT couldn't care less.

Is Auburn truely the #5 defense in the nation...?

Auburn has a great defense... they are a tad undersized but run as good as any in the nation and Tubby gets 110% intensity out of that unit... very good DL and Trey Blackmon is one of the best LB in the SEC... DBs are a question mark in coverage but they play the run very well

all-around great D

LSU is LB play away from being as good as any D in the country...still might be if the young corners can adjust like they should, especially Peterson

Is it 'possible' for anyone to have a better D than LSU?

Yes, but they must prove it first. Sadly, your Trojans haven't.

May be you should have asked Ohio St. after we put 31 unanswerd points on their Big-10 tested #1 defense

You sound like an LSU fan talking about Early Doucet and Ali Highsmith around this time last year.

Yes, Stanford players are still quivering in their boots. That last 4th and goal defensive plan especially was marvelous. Walk us thorough it would you?

An offense driven suck arse league.....USC's D is overrated, deal w/ it.

USC & OSU are seriously overrated as usual.

The nation's #1 scoring defense returns 9 starters. How can you say OSU's overrated?

B/C anytime another team gets props or is mentioned as being ahead of LSU in some aspect of the game, some LSU fans take it as a personal attack on the Tigers. THey have difficulty seeing the forest for the trees. I mean, they hold the ultimate trump card (BCS NC from 2007), but tend to meltdown or get quite defensive when another gets attention. A better response from such fans would be similar to "OSU or USC's D better than ours?...who's got got the crystal baby"? There's not much we could respond to on that one. But some get so bent out of shape when a sporting poll comes out and another team is ranked ahead of LSU, or ESPN fails to mention LSU on its news scroll, when some article is written that praises another team etc. that they loose site.
