A good coordinator recruits athletes to fit his scheme. Like Chavis. So what was Crowton's excuse?

I'm aware of that. Just curious if it would of went downhill IF Perrilloux got to stay and IF we recruited different.

U'll forget Les is the captain of the ship. He gets payed big money for what he does. He is responsible for every thing happens during the season, but it is up to him to make the decisions. I like Les, but some on here are quick to blame the other coaches but should also look at Les in the end!

40 seconds to go, no timeouts, down by 2. About 20 yards away from FG range. Call a RB screen to the middle of the muddiest field ever. Cannot stop clock. Time runs out.
Yet still was invited back the next year.

If it would of worked, he'd of been a hero.

Really our QB only cost us the Bama game in 08. Every other loss was on the defense.
Except Ole Miss. That unwatchable POS was on both.

Jimbo, Gary and Studthorpe.
Soon to be 5/5 in a couple years with Cam

A screen pass to the middle of the field was the absolute worst call in that situation. Ridley could not run out of bounds, JJ could not throw it away, and he was behind the line of scrimmage so he to pick up 10 yards to get a first.
Normally when plays don't work, I can usually see the thinking behind calling them. Not this one. This playcall made no sense whatsoever.

Yeah, I understand it takes certain types of players to make that style work, but it seems like if maybe we'd of recruited different, it would of been more consistent.
long story short Garys style was predictable and unimaginative after year 3 or 4 everywhere he has been. Not a bad Coach or system.

It's not like Crowton has a history of sputtering offenses wherever he goes, or fanbase that are happier to see him leave rather than sadder to see him stick around.

Never said it was the right play, but if it would of worked, it would of been "brilliant", because nobody would of expected it.
Posted on 5/9/13 at 11:50 am to ztraveler
I get your point. I do. I'm just curious how that system would of worked after the 2007 season if we could of re-stacked on offense. I'm not taking up for him. I just know the talent pool at LSU is much greater than a BYU or even an Oregon.

You are not looking at Gary Crowtn's all time record..... He goes down hill every place he goes
Posted on 5/9/13 at 11:59 am to ztraveler
I did see that. Thanks for not being a smart arse and not arguing your point like you're under ten years old.
