I remember going to this. 2002 squad vs alumni players in the old box. Would love to see a present day version.

Can you imagine the arse whipping this team would take if the alumni played against them even with wood bats?

Most players contracts still in pro ball likely prohibit it
Last thing you want is a player getting hurt

It would have to be players out of pro ball for the most part

Mike Fontenot was not out of pro ball in 2002

I asked coach Johnson about the possibility of having an alumni game and he said it is a good idea. I need to find out who I need to contact about getting it going. Anyone have a contact?

The Alumni team had taken a 3-2 lead in the top of the eighth inning on a two-run double by first baseman Jeff Leaumont. LSU collected 14 hits in the contest, including a 3-for-3 outing by designated hitter Eric Wiethorn. Right-hander Jake Tompkins was credited with the victory for LSU, as he worked the final two innings, surrendering two runs on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts. Tompkins fanned second baseman Mike Fontenot with a runner at first base to end the game.
