It took some of the all-time greats to knock those Tiger teams out of the NCAA playoffs...

1979 - Magic Johnson
1980 - Darrell Griffith
1981 - Isaiah Thomas (semis) and Ralph Sampson (3rd place game)

I hate to admit it but I am the reason they lost up in philly. I flew out of baton rouge with a cowboy boot full of twisted 420 material. Had a room where the team stayed. Not going to mention any names but I met a guy who has gone on to be a pretty prominent lawyer here in town. Ended up having 3 of the starters up in my room each day before the games. Got some of the local "working girls" to join us. Even made a trip to Camden NJ where 1 of the guys was from and scored something "stronger." We didn't bring the trophy home but we had a hell of a time trying...

Isaiah Thomas

I believe that Ethan Martin got his arse benched. He had a pretty good second half, but he wasn’t the reason we lost. Rudy splitting his hand open against either Arky or Whichta State. I was there and saw that happen right in front of us. My son loved the tournament and even got pics with the cheerleaders on outside of the Dome just before the game.

We were up at the half 30-27. Rudy's injury certainly did not help. But we could not hit a shot in the second half. We stayed in the locker room the whole half, and did not get back in time to even warm up...I imagine Dale got carried away.

I always wondered if it would have made any difference. Knight claimed he switched some defensive assignments and that was the key. But we missed some good looks we really hadn't all year.

Ethan had Isiah's number, right at the end of the first half of the game Ethan set up two blocks Isiah ran right into and you guess the ref called Ethan for the foul.

Ethan was faster than Isiah that night and it was clear to see by all there. I was in the box sets to the right of the LSU goal.

If the 2 blocks are called correct Isiah would have fouled out before half time as he already had 3 fouls.
