When did Clemson change their second color to Regalia from Blue?
Traditionally they were purple. Clemson’s first coach, Walter Riggs, came from Auburn to become school president and football coach. Clemson’s first uniforms were Auburn’s old faded ones. The blue had faded to a purple so that was our colors. He also brought the tiger mascot with him.
Somewhere along the line a coach did not like the purple and switched to blue. The purple started showing back up in the early 90s with Ken Hatfield.

What uniforms are they (Clemson) wearing for the national championship game? I assume that LSU will be wearing their traditional white jerseys with gold helmets and gold pants.

Thank you for posting that - woke up around midnight and noticed this post - watched the video(s).

My first thought whenever I have heard of that game goes back to a pre-game comment by Clemson coach that they would "run over" us when we put in our "3rd string." That was first year of the Chinese Bandits.

I also noticed that snippets of the pre-game and halftime shows were featured - Got a glimpse of my old unit - the Pershing Rifles - I had been a member of that group in '56 & '57, but did not continue in ROTC after that.

Sent a link to this video to my granddaughter who was a Golden Girl = she performed at our last Championship. '58 was the inaugural year for the Golden Girls - had 100 of them at that time.

Great memories
