Not what Herb (I like that we have a guy named Herb to lend some comical irony to all of this) said yesterday.

Hmmmmm, it was originally reported that he had clearing house issues. I thought the drug shite was just internet rumors?

I could be mistaken, but the gist of what I gathered was that it was related to drugs.

As much as his teammates love the guy and want him to succeed, is it not plausible that this would divide the team?

kind of like TM led the way with his unwavering support of JJ to get his starting job back last year? putting the number on his arm, etc......you mean dividing the team like that?

So which school does he play for? I'm thinking he stays in Louisiana.

Hopefully Mcnese. I've heard Jackson State was out there too...if that happens, you can write him off in my opinion.

Wasnt allowed to due to drug issues...kind of odd isn't it???

Only thing odd here is your posts.

Had DP become part of the Tiger family and played here 2 years things may have been different.

It's easy for people here to use hypothetical situations to further their obvious agendas instead of just coming out and stating what they obviously feel.

My 30 second google search only found the clearing house paperwork issues and some minor chatter on a Bama board about Pratt getting into some drug trouble.

I don't see a quote from Herb in any of those articles.

I have no agenda.

On this site, if you don't blindly side with players you are blasted.

I just feel there is more to this kid's life than football and people saying there isn't are holding the kid back from realizing there is more to life than football. If that is an odd take on what is going on here, then I am ok with being odd.

"LSU senior associate athletic director for NCAA compliance Bo Bahnsen told Gannett Louisiana late Monday that Mathieu did not have the option to play for the Tigers again"

that was today....he went on to say that was said on Friday...that he was off the team and won't be playing again. He can go to school at LSU. He said the if TM believes he can still play after waiting a year, he is mistaken.

Take it for what it is worth.

I'm pretty sure a bunch of people had that on their arms including Claiborne.

It's really not about right or wrong. It's about LSU's athletic department running a pretty tight ship the past decade or so. We're one of very few schools that monitor the hell out of their athletes.

And then Herb Vincent came out and said LSU did not say that and Bo had been quoted out of context by GG. Stop regurgitating the same shite that has been discussed over and over again.

Dude, that guy is in the compliance office and that quote came out yesterday from Guilbeau. That's nothing new today. Herb's comment came out to REFUTE that very statement.

Rumor # 234: according to an article in today's N.O. Times Picayune, a family member was quoted as saying " as far as him returning to LSU, it's not happening". "He will announce his college choice by Wed". FWIW.

That's old news. shite changes too fast for print media to keep up with

This is a good thing...see Penn State, USC, Miami, North Carolina, etc. As crazy as it has been the last few years, we have avoided a lot of shite by "monitor the hell out of their athletes."

Which I don't see anything wrong with.

I just see it as a privilege to play football at that level. The kid made mistakes, but still has the opportunity to pursue that privilege...just not with LSU. It happens with every program in the country. Even Mett says he feels what hes is going through, but the process of starting new and repairing his image will be beneficial for Tyrann...and thats coming from someone who has dealt with something similar to Tyrann

Hopefully he does change and takes advantage of the opportunity.

I think you limit a kid when you allow him to believe football is his only way out. There is and will be more to life for Tyrann than football.
