Doubt it. I imagine you'd want wants best for your kid. Right now the best thing for Tyrann is to stay at LSU, both academically and athletically. He's not a bad kid. I've had the pleasure of being around him outside of LSU and y'all are acting like this kid is running around town terrorizing people. He has a real problem and this is the first time he's had to deal with definite consequences. This is a change of life, one way or the other, for him. I love how people think they can possible put themselves in his shoes right now
So making sure he plays football again is important part of fixing his problem?
Think of him as a very promising medical student in his internship- more than a few med schools would tell him to get his arse into rehab, follow a stringent program, and allow him to return in a year if he meets criteria. That's because he's demonstrated a considerable aptitude for the field (I'd compare him to "top of the class" in med school), and if he can get cleaned up, he'll prosper- and so would his future employer.
So, yes- in that light, it is important for him to return to football. What's the other career choices he has in front of him, and how do they compare?

I like many am asking what ever happened to the 3rd violation? Are we ignoring our own policy and leaving Mathieu behind? What kind of bullshite is this?!
That's stupid as hell.
That's stupid as hell.

This is still to be decided and will be based on the way he handles the situation now that he is removed from the team...
One could argue "something that he loves more than anything" is actually the drugs in this situation considering that is what he prioritized over his football career at LSU.
But what is Tyrann fighting for now? LSU football or whatever the shite is he's into?
Look, I feel like I need to copy and paste this shite in every Tyrann thread. This kid had a raw, and by raw I mean the shittiest of shitty upbringings. Dad's in jail for murder, mom was a crack whore who, when she finally got clean why Tyrann was 7 or 8, decided that she couldn't handle all the kids she had so she gave Tyrann up. The grandpa had to step in and stop him from being awarded to the state. He even did an interview prior to the BCS game where talked about his mom and how it still hurts him to this day that she didn't want him. Best part is that rotten piece of shite decided Tyrann was good enough for her in the past few years and now wants to build a relationship with him. Tyrann has been hanging around some shady characters this entire off season and it was just a matter of time before something like this happened. LSU is his best chance at getting the proper guidance and care at this point. He needs LSU way more that LSU needs him.

I definitely undrstand your point. But noone forced him to blow his opportunity at his career. It happens every day and he knew he had more at stake than others, but still made poor decisions. Why arent we scanning the papers for every kid who lost an opportunity due to drugs and sticking up for them?

Sounds like the 3rd offense consequence was presented to him and he refused it.
No one thought he'd take one year off, even him, so he was kicked off the team.
Now things have changed apparently an he eats to stay.

You're stupid as hell...if you think LSU didn't bend over backwards for this kid. Grow up. Kid, as you might imagine, Mathieu has had PLENTY of chances. He needs to get his butt to D1 ball, stay clean for the next several months...and get drafted in the second round of football. It's over at LSU.....deal with it, move on.

This we may never know per the LSU ADAP:
All results are confidential and will only be
released on a need to know basis in accordance with the Informed Consent/Waiver Statement
and the University’s Consent to Release of Education Records.
With what it stated above we also do not know if any other infractions took place, their were prior deals made between him and the coaching staff, he appealed his third offense already per the ADA, etc.
To assume this was his third and nothing else took place does not make sense and for him to be removed "permanently" would point to another infraction occurring. TM, Coach Miles, and Aleva know what happened and we have to trust our officials made the correct decision.

Poor Tyrann......he had the chance to make MILLIONS....still does. MOST of us do not have a chance anywhere close to what he has. Yes he had a rough upbringing......BUT SO HAVE MANY MORE that have gone on to great things.....in spite of their upbringing. He had his choices, apparently he thought he was above the rules. If you think they haven't worked with him over and over, you are crazy. They actually brought in former players from the NFL to talk to him....to try and let him know the risks.......He wouldn't listen. I feel sorry for his teammates and the fans that he let down. HE STILL HAS A GREAT CHANCE to turn this around, and become very wealthy in the process. It is up to him whether he will or not. Sitting out of football will do nothing for him. He needs to go D1, get on the field, and show the world he can stay clean....if he does that, he will be a second round pick next year. If he doesn't...well.....that's simply too bad. I wish I had the choice.

Or he was presented the year suspension and refused and was kicked off.
Then Monday decided to consider the year suspension.

I agree with all of this, but what separates him from the rest of New Orleans youth in deserving another opportunity due to their upbringing??? His ability to play football???
This is a university, not a semi-pro football team. Football isn't and should not be the most important factor to those making the decisions.
If football is what is best for Tyrann, then he needs to go to McNeese and start preparing for the draft next year and forget about LSU. Staying out of football for a year and returning to LSU next likely isn't his best football option.

this
you don't see TM lashing out at the school. People are naive if they think there weren't many more chances than we know about. You can rest assured that LSU gave him every opportunity with this...and he simply chose the wrong path. In many ways, I think he thought that all the hype made him above the rules........if he had it to do over again, I feel confident that he would be different. However, he doesn't have that choice now, and he needs to make the best of what he does have. Only wish he would have taken the possibly punishment more seriously.

Sitting might be the very best thing he could do for himself. Competing against D-1 talent isn't what the NFL wants to see...
If he sits out a year, lowers his profile, makes the grades, comes back in 2013 and graduates, that might mean a whole lot more to him long term.
Would also look better to the NFL

So now he's being given a 4th chance.

Short term, no
Long term? Very possible

What's the policy say?
Third offense gets you a one year suspension
Why have the policy if you aren't going to follow it?
Sets a bad example

Janoris Jenkins did fine going that route. He took his lumps like a man and dealt with the consequences and made it into the top 2 rounds of the draft. But had Florida decided to take him back, they would have been labeled as a thug program by all of the rant.

Maybe getting his degree is important to his family and himself at this point?
Moreso than entering the draft at 21 years old

They may or may not be following the policy, but we will not be told due to the information being confidential.
To assume the AD and Coach are not following the policy is just as asinine as saying he failed 10 drug tests....we do not know the situation, and have to leave it up to the people who do and also get payed to make these difficult decisions while we argue on a forum all day.

Got to think LSU is messing with this kid's head. Deep down LSU hopes he stays.
