To me, the more questionable thing is going super conservative on offense when you have the opportunity to end it. So many teams do it with a lead. Predictable run plays that the defense is playing overaggressively to stop. RRPP or even more conservatively RRRP. Just run your best stuff and exploit the defense if they're overplaying things.
If you have high trust in your defense, then playing it conservatively makes more sense. But Idaho had receivers wide open throughout the game.
