Taking my kid to first game, tried asking on the ticket exchange without much luck

I’m taking my 7 year old to her first game tonight and wondering what’s the pre/post game situation for lots along Skip Bertman Dr? I need to go north after the game but haven’t parked in that area before. Looks like it flows you north up river road, just wondering if the traffic actually flows like it does on Nicholson?
Prefer to be in lots 104, 105, or 106 but scalpers are out of control on secondary markets. Are there any safe, non-LSU affiliated parking spots in that area? Or other areas that will flow us north?

Park under the river bridge across from the Pastime, its free. Take the Pastime shuttle bus service i think its $15. They have 7 busses. They start 3 hours before the game.
Not sure how you will get out of those lots maybe north on river road but all the way past the state capitol.

Never been to Past time. Have you done this before? Just wondering what the environment is like for a 7 year old?

It’s pretty tame, mostly older people taking the bus. Might be a few drunk people on the ride back but I would recommend it for a kid if you can’t find a parking pass. Should be able to get north pretty easy from past time too.

IMO a 7 year old would love the Pastime. TV’s on every wall. It’s burgers, pizzas, po-boys and has some old photos on the walls. It’s historic and the shuttle situation is not bad. I think a kid would consider it cool to ride the bus filled with fans. It’s mostly couples. I have a parking pass but have ridden the bus for various reasons multiple times.

Unless there is some reason you just want to be in that area, I would park on the opposite side over by Chimes. There are plenty of paid spots and some free spots. You can park at a business or apartment for $40 or less and it’s super easy to exit campus via Dalrymple after the game right onto I-10.
I’ve been parking there for 35 years with no issues.
And it’s a nice walk through campus.

That’s a great option too. Parking near Chimes puts you closer to the PMAC where you can see the band come down the hill. Then go inside PMAC for the pre-game show. Your kid would love that. You would be right by Mike too.

Do you know which businesses specifically offer parking? Do they take card or cash payment?

It’s mostly cash, and there are individuals just taking your cash as you pull in. There’s a free lot by Louie’s but you have to get there early.
Louie’s also has paid parking

Plenty of OG Uncs will let you park in their yard for 20-50 bucks and they will watch your car all night because they’re outside all night. Just lock up. Park off Nicholson down by or near the state streets. Lots of fools will tell you to dodge bullets but no, not with that police presence all over. After game, walk back in a crowd and then interstate (near Louisa) is right there. Won’t be poisonous hot outside either so walk to and from is doable.

I parked in that area for the LA Tech game. We went north on River Road through downtown and were able to get on I 110 at the state capital. Traffic was heavy but flowed fine all the way.
