No because one was a passing play and one was a running play.

On passing plays, you cannot use "rub" routes, creating contact with a defender, to create space if it is more than yard past the LOS. Within one yard and behind the LOS, it's fine. On running plays, there's no such rule...however anything is possible with these incompetent refs.
