Leavitt is the problem

Thinking about this relative to a good/expected performance.

Yes, Baker’s D was soft in 1H. But, Chambliss was always going to get his. Relative to what would have been a good defensive performance, defense probably surrendered 1 too many touchdowns. If OM scores 24-25 pts, we would have been pleased.

However, the offense significantly underperformed. Lane’s offenses usually avg 500 yds per game. And offense last night put up like 330 yds. So, significantly below expected. That was a Brian Kelly-like team performance rather than a Lane Kiffin-like team performance.

And, we know Charlie Weiss Jr is a fantastic offensive mind. His multi-year track record proves that he is great. But, he can only work with the tools that he has.

Leavitt panics. He’s like Jayden Daniels as a Jr but with less speed. Hopefully the coaching staff puts on those VR goggles to help slow things down for him. Else, this could be a longer than expected season.
