Because he doesn't have the chest.

Nah, he is only off if LSU takes the 5 recievers that are rated significantly higher than he is. (Quinn, Dupree, Noil, Blacknall, Williams)

Think it is a mistake not to take a guy that has been committed for this long, and from what I have heard is a good guy with great upside. Also one big factor is that he comes from one of the best high school programs in the state, do not burn bridges in recruiting.

I agree. I know there's a lot of really talented wrs this year but Upchurch has been committed for a while. I'd hate for him to lose his spot.

247 shows Jamal Adams with no LSU offer, but I thought we offered him awhile back?? Was that a non-commitable offer? He's an interesting one because a lot of our Texas recruits are in contact with him and are friends with him, so I can see us making a late push if we can just get him to campus.

I'm fine with taking Michael Johnson.

I see a lot of Rashard Robinson's recruitment in his scenario. Great size/athleticism, both want/wanted to come to LSU but had to earn their commitable offer at camp. Rashard showed out and got his. I think Johnson will do the same and will always have that chip on his shoulder

Upchurch bulked up to 228. He will definitely be part of this class, IMO.

6'2" 228 lbs.

Dare I say David Boston? Who was a monster at Ohio State because of that size. He was 208 when he got to the pros but quickly bulked up to 228

I like palelei but I think the staff would want more of a bruiser to complement Fornette

Why would they want a bruiser when we are looking at Guice next year? We'll have Magee to complement Fournette and I'd like to put Upchurch at RB if we keep him. My wish is Roc but I'd take a great consolation in Palelei

QB: Harris RB: Fornette, Palelei WR: Dupre, Quinn, Blacknall, Williams TE: Washington, Jones OL: Cam Rob, Clapp, Brumfield Safety: Jamal Adams, Hootie, Voorhies Corner: Brown, Paris, Hardman ILB: Young, Garrett, OLB: Alexander, Rhaheed DE: Willis III, Clark DT: Godchaux, McDowell (wish we would pursue a big name DT)

We've already got Brazil, adding Noil will be more of the same and I think he might be looking hard elsewhere. Besides if we get Palelei, we won't lose sleep over Noil. Just watched Dri Archer's high school tape after being wowed many times by his college tape. Palelei seems like he fit that mold perfectly. Dri looked like hot garbage in high school compared to how he looks in college. He also looks like he cut his 40 by 2 tenths of a second and his high end speed is ridiculous.
