Not ever, but that year he was the best. I saw Odell, Jarvis, and DW in person and it wasn't even close. Anybody who speaks otherwise never saw him.

Let me clarify..Landry was sick in high school. It's just Daquille was that much better as an all around WR.

Picture a thicker Justin Hunter with moves like a true river parish baller.

I get the impression this recruit has gotten better as time has dragged on...
Even if he's "the best ever", it really doesn't matter if he can't get on the field...
Plus, there are apparently "other issues".
Sounds more and more like Deangelo Benton II.

You get that impression because people jumped on the wagon years later. He really was that good. No, not best ever, but like i said he was best that year for sure. Now, I have not seen him play since high school but he would shite on Benton.

Shea is on the record as saying he's the best hs player he's seen during his time watching and scouting kids and he's seen quite a few studs come through the state.

Williams question marks are no longer grade oriented, they're character oriented. Our staff questions whether he is worth the risk. Not only the chance of him being a troublemaker(which we are trying to separate ourselves from considering all the shite some of the guys in the draft this year caused) but partly the fact that his eye is on the NFL and he may not come in and work as a team guy and cause issues that way. Simialr to a Terrell Owens type trouble.

If D'haquille Williams is really as good as some think, the possibly of him playing on the same team with Leonard Fournette would be a once in a lifetime combo. I'd hope LSU would take the chance if there are any signs he won't be a problem.

That said, I really know nothing about the kid except what I read on here from time to time. The hype is so big on here that I tend to think he probably wouldn't live up to expectations.

LSU doesn't need to take big risks with guys with character issues. Football is the team sport of all team sports. One or two great players can't win games alone. LSU is happy to take 1-3 above average WRs with no character issues than one great one with some.

His grades are the problem

Little Nicky will enroll him in the Eddie Lacy school of learning and be eligible for play opening day....

Got to love his connections...

So can anyone confirm we won't offer him? Wasn't Lacy a character risk?

I think whether or not we offer will be an ongoing evaluation-in-process.

There are several things to consider but his talent and ability are not among them. Still, we have the options of bringing in several outstanding receivers in this upcoming class. The question is whether or not one of them will be a guy who, while possessing great talent, has exhibited self-discipline issues and would probably be a Tiger for only one year.

Someone used a Terrell Owens comparison. Williams reminds me of Keyshawn Johnson and Cordarelle Patterson.
