Davenport said he thinks LSU gets him, I don't know if Campbell has actually been telling Chris that he'll be a Tiger.

DD has reported this for 6 weeks

CD is DD's source

It was said later that CD backed off those remarks?

At this point, the factors points to LSU, so it would make sense for him to come here. It also made sense for him to stay with Michigan though, so who knows.

Except that he preferred Miami's campus to LSU's and UF's.

Per Sonny, William Campbell did not tell Davenport that he was coming to LSU.

i look at this board every day and he gets talked about, but way less than any other recruit

He didn't get talked about because many thought he was 100% UM.

tell me or explain to me why people act like this is awesome for lsu and if we dont get him why all hope is lost

This is awesome for LSU because the guy is a good player. If we don't get him, all hope will certainly not be lost. At this point, if we close with Randle, Loston, Debose, Mingo, etc, then Campbell would be some sweet arse lagniappe.

B/c he's thought to be a longshot. I still get the feeling he's playing the game and there's a decent chance he still picks Michigan. If not, I think Miami has the best chance b/c of the things he said after his visit there.

It'd be a very pleasant suprise to get him, but by no means would it be a blow to LSU's class w/o him

Yeah Especially since we lead with Montgomery

Oh this is gettin fun

O must be on the job

The recruits have been told who the new coaches are going to be, and they are talking it up before the AA games, so LSU can shine baby!

it would be nice to pair him with Davenport

Hicks will be out in 2 years and fills an immediate need

other than Davenport, we really haven't invested into the legacy of our great D-lines in this year's class

Brockers certainly is solid, but getting a kid like Campbell or Montgomery would be what you look for since our program has gotten to the point that it's identity is producing great DLs annually... you expect that rep to get you kids like this at that area of the team

R. Rod is fricking that program up. I think he is a good coach, but he was nothing that Michigan need. Round Peg, Square hole.

And this would be a shock if we land this cat.

I do think recruiting well in that state obviously helps Miles if he wants that job again, which he obviously might if Rich Rod fails

I disagree

he brings a speed system to a slow conference

look at how much success Zook has already had by doing that at a lesser school in the Big 10 in just a short amount of time

give him a couple of years..they'll be fine

Please don't compare the history behind Illinois and UM. Michigan is steeped in history and program pride as a premiere team in country year in and year out. That's apples and oranges. Changing the culture at Illinois is much easier then it would be in Michigan.

Ron Zook is 18-30 at Illinois and 10-22 in Big Ten play. The Rose Bowl wanted to preserve their Big Ten/Pac Ten pairing so they invited a completely undeserving Illinois team last year. I don't disagree that DickRod can do well at Michigan, but using Zook as evidence doesn't really make a compelling case.

thats all i needed to know. i still feel very confident with the people we already have. so campbell wont make or break this class in my opinion, and is he really that good? i have no film or anything to watch on him rt now so i cant decide for myself.
