Will Wade Talking Recruiting on OTB

A couple of interesting tidbits:
- WW noticed early on in the season that the three guard lineup wasn't going to fly and that they needed a 6'6, athletic, "SEC" wing player. Coaches identified Marlon Taylor early on and had been recruiting him for some time. Said it was convenient, with him being from NY, when they would go to visit Naz Reid in NJ, they would visit Taylor as well.
- As for the two open scholarships, WW said there were a few guys ready to sign. Doesn't sound like those recruits have committable offers.

The sad thing is that Sampson is ~6'5" and was arguably the most naturally athletic guy on the team. He was solid on defense in the Michigan game...until Charles Matthews took over in the second half. He got injured in the next game vs. ND and was essentially a non-factor the rest of the way except for a few big burst here and there. Arguably, Sampson should have been that SEC wing Wade said they needed last season. He's athletic and probably a better shooter than Taylor. But alas, it just never clicked for him at LSU

Just listened.....it sounds like we have options for those last two spots.
I wonder who are the ones ready to sign......

Always seemed like Sampson’s worst enemy was Sampson. Of everyone on the team I would bet he had the biggest problem with the change in culture.

He makes it sound like if Taylor comes in and works hard, he's gonna start at the 3

Taylor will play a lot I bet. Has good size, Super athletic, and can shoot.

Let it go. Hopefully he’s moving on to bigger and better things.

Really? And you know this how? You don’t know this young man. Stop pretending you do.

He will play a lot, sorry that makes you angry

Taylor, a 6-foot-6 wing who can play the 3 or the 4, averaged 17.0 points and 9.5 rebounds per game in 2017-18 for Panola, shooting 44 percent from 3. He steps into the program as Brandon Sampson, a similarly athletic shooting wing, leaves for the NBA Draft. Taylor, originally a product of Mount Vernon, N.Y., sports a 40-plus inch vertical and will compete for minutes at the 3 and 4 for LSU. LINK
Also shoots over 80% from ft. Kid will see the floor a lot. I also hope rachel stays out of trouble because I think these two can lock down that small forward spot for us without even thinking about what Days or even E williams might do. All of a sudden we seem to be stacking talent and role players. Wade is just killing it.

He's the same guy that got pissed in the thread about Robinson because we pointed out that Robinson has been getting shitty advice for a while.
Seems strange to go to a place built around opinion sharing and tell people they can't share their opinion for one reason or another.
