To come to LSU? Harris has played in the SEC and is a more sure fire elite college player.

Because neither has signed on the dotted line yet, and this entire board has ptsd from years past

I’m just saying if there’s one of the two we can’t afford to lose, it’s Harris. And with Tack Minor as his step dad, it seems he’s a lock for LSU as he wanted to play for LSU in the first place.

I mean we need both. Like really need both. We have 2 scholarship players coming back, if Banks stays, and a bunch of freshmen. Losing Ricks is a big deal. Trying to spin it like it’s not is a loser’s mentality. Just need to stop losing.

Exactly. We needed both. Not hard to comprehend.

We kinda have some really good freshmen that could start at CB next year, like Toviano.

If we can start two true freshmen on the OL, we can start a true freshman at CB.

That’s exactly how I feel, plus Ricks can transfer after 1 year.

So far it’s gone from “oh well we don’t need austin cause we’re getting ricks and harris.” Now it’s “why are people upset we’re losing ricks, we’re getting harris” YOU WANT ALL OF THEM. Elite talent and elite depth creates championship teams. Obviously with the transfer portal it’s not the end of the world, but it still sucks to lose out on elite recruits

Just maybe talent evaluation plays a role. What if the coaches see a 4* kid as an elite 5* when the recruiting services don’t? Is it possible that coaches could have a better evaluation of talent than the services?

Let’s not forget Justin Jefferson was a 2-3* as evaluated by these same services.

Yes of course it plays a role, but the statistics say a higher percentage of 4 and 5 star players turn out to be contributors. There are constant outliers obviously. Stars aren’t everything but they matter

What is being debated here is 4 star vs 5 star. Toviano is a 4 star, yet our fans are melting over possibly losing 5 star Ricks. Who is to say Toviano isn’t better?

The point is that you want both. This is the weakest part of the team. Elite depth is what separates us from UGA. The importance of getting these elite young talents that can possibly be 3 year starters cannot be stressed enough

In addition to a huge NIL deal Saban is probably telling Ricks and his handlers that LSU already has a silent commitment to 5* CB and Louisiana native Denver Harris and you may have a harder time getting snaps early on.

Of course I’d just tell Ricks if Saban is why you’re considering Bama you’ll be lucky if he’s still there by the time you’re eligible for the NFL. And here’s my Gordon “Get Out Of Jail Free” card

Kristian Fulton was a 5 star …Greedy Williams was a 4 star …( im not debating who was better)…but they were in the same class and Fulton was ranked much higher
