re: Why is Colin Hurley only a 3 star composite on 247?

Bruh he's in HS. Do you think Nuss is going to suck for LSU? He has negative rushing yards right now too. Does that mean he's a statue? No, it doesn't. There's a difference between dual threat QBs and athletic ones in the pocket who can slide around. Hurley isn't a statue. Modern NCAA only needs a QB who can move around to extend plays. They don't have to move the chains with their feet. They escape pressure and make the throw.
You're trying to make him out to be something he's not.

Yes, but…. He needs to get his completion % above 60%, or at least close. He was 53% last year. Plus he needs to run the friggin ball a bit. Negative rushing yards over 2 seasons is a red flag for me.
Listen, go watch his highlights. It's clear that the kid is mobile, but choses not to run. He moves around in the backfield to make plays plenty. CJ Stroud isn't a runner either. Stroud had 108 yards on 47 carries this year with 79 of the 108 coming in the game vs Northwestern where they were playing in a heavy wind game and couldn't throw the ball. Now 34 came vs Ohio St when he took off an ran once or twice. So 113 yards came in 2 games, but he finished with 108 yards. You figure that one out. The year before that he had -20 yards rushing on the season. In those two years he was a 2x Heisman finalist and totaled 8100 pass yards and 85 TD passes to 12 ints
CJ Stroud is the guy I have been comparing Hurley to since he committed to LSU.

Dude, I got the stats from Maxpreps and the criticisms are common sense, you don’t have to be a recruiting guru to wonder if a low completion percentage and negative rushing yards are things to be concerned about. Look, I love the kid, I love the way he throws, I love that he’s a winner. He seems smart AF. There are just some things I’d like to see him do better in his last season of HS for me to get psyched. And, I think he’s going to need to show some of these improvements to be that high 4 or 5 star that we’d like him to be.
I’d also like him to grow a couple inches, while he’s at it.

Because he's a HEAVY lean LSU commit.

That’s the biggest question is accuracy like you said. They want him in the 65+ percentage range minimum.

All your criticisms are for recruits who are higher in age and maturity. He's more mature right now than where the majority of recruits are by the time they hit campus. Where do you think his progression will be when he's a 16-17 year old on LSU's campus?
Jesus christ dude. Of course he's going to be shorter when he's younger than most recruits and hasn't hit his growth spurt.
Just shut up and let LSU do the scouting eh? He's plenty mobile enough to be a championship QB on his film and he'll probably even get better there as he physically matures. I don't know why his completion % is lower. He looks incredibly accurate on all the film I've seen.

Just give me Burrow's accuracy and running ability with a strong arm and a sharp mind, and I' happy. LOL
