You look at the signees from around the country, some at schools with several qb's on the roster, yet for the past decade we cant ever seem to sign a difference maker.

Its been a development thing.

We've brought in talented QBs but just never develop them or put them in a situation to really thrive.

Because we aren't actively looking in this recruiting year. We have two studs to choose from next year

forget the last decade. last year we signed two top qb's. yes, this is an area of concern but the past has dominated a lot of folks on here.

right now, there SEEMS to be an issue with our OC and he is our QB coach. this needs to be corrected and it should be easier going forward to sign more guys. good qb's always look at the present qbs on a team and we have a sophomore and rs freshman.

LSU doesn't produce many. When we get one or two, they usually stink. When we go out of state for QBs - it's really hit or miss.

LSU has had a QB problem for a long, long time.

Name the "better than good to great" LSU QBs since Herb Tyler:

Etling (Purdue, Indiana kid)
Mett (UGA, JUCO - Georgia kid)
Flynn (Texas kid)
Russell (Bama kid)
Davey (Florida kid)
Mauk (Baseball, Indiana kid)

Two transfers, 1 baseball reclamation project, and 3 "steals" - ALL 6 from other states.

How many "meh" Louisiana QBs have we tried during that same almost 20 year period?

At least a half dozen, plus throw in a few Andrew Hatches Jarrett Lees here and there (whom we should thank for being there when we needed them).

Jarrett Lee - #10 ranked Pro QB
Jordan Jefferson - #11 Ranked Pro QB
Brandon Harris - #3 Ranked DT QB
Anthony Jennings - #14 ranked pro QB
Hayden Rettig - #9 ranked pro QB

Brennan - #6 pro QB
Narcisse - #9 DT QB

System and development. We have struggled there.

And that's a mistake if true.

No top school defers recruiting a QB because they assume who they already have will pan out and future QBs will sign with them. We can't make assumptions. There's no reason to not add a QB in every class.

Nice if there is one out there that fills the needs of your program. However, you first need a line and that is the greatest area of need right now.

If someone discusses something ad nauseam, they talk about it so much that it becomes very boring:

I agree and I don't know how we break the chain of 2 or 3, then none, then 2, then none, then 3, then none.

Because when you sign 3, you end up with 1 transfer, minimum, often 2. Now, if you can convince ONE elite kid that he can come in, eat, study, work on academics, work out, watch film, run the scout team for a year, then he will be THE guy for his class going forward, certainly his job to lose as a junior/senior, that seems more professional than signing 3 and saying, "You 3 will fight it out and the losers go to the Sunbelt/MAC."

People are freaking our over this but being able to redshirt Narcisse essentially gives us a QB for this class. Next year is the year O has to sign a legit QB.
