I understand going with the in-state guy, if the coaches feel comfortable with it. I'm with you on Jefferson though.
It'd be nice if we could get Willis to come here. Sincere interest and coming to camp, couple with seeing a game would leave a good impression. Goodman would be good too, but like you said, he may not want to leave from out there.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Kincaid. I really like his game, and I hope he enjoys it out here.

Pretty much the general vibe I'm getting from the board is that Nkemdiche has been ceded to Bama. Which I actually am not that bothered by. This year in recruiting has been doing us well, and there are more fish out there. I like the guys game, but if he goes elsewhere that's fine.

Prevot, I think, will fit really well into our system. I really like what he has to offer, and hope we get the sign the guy.

Bottom line, with the exception of Corey Thompson, who was a rare exception due to Landon Collins going to Bana, if youre a DB and youre serious about going to LSU you have to go to a summer camp. Jefferson will be there, so Willis needs to be as well.

And on Nkemdiche, one guy isnt going to change the game with programs like Bama and LSU. Were gonna have boys who can block him.

Agree completely on Prevot. Looks like a Mingo prototype. Hopefully he comes to the next camp

Yeah, Thompson was one of my favorite signees from last year actually.
I hope Willis makes it out to camp and commits, I really like what the guy brings to the table. Big time player.
You're definitely spot on with Nkemdiche.
There are definitely a lot of similarities between Prevot and Mingo. Hopefully, Prevot is the one to fill Mingo's spot when he leaves.

He could fill in as a 3rd down specialist, but I look for Danielle Hunter to play across from Jermauria Rasco when Mingo and Monty get there fat checks after this season. People sleep on Hunter, dude is an animal

While I know its a cliche', we must "Keep up the fence" around Louisiana.

Melvin Jones LB
Kendall Beckwith LB
Tim Williams DE
Desean Smith TE
Ricky Jefferson ATH

For OOS:

Ricky Seals Jones (I think we will get him, but I dont know why)
Greg Gilmore DT
Priest Willis DB
Tahaan Goldman DB
***Daniel Carlson K*** my own selection.

I agree with the fence stuff but imo if we don't take one of the LA kids it will be because we opened the fence and threw them out not because someone took part of the fence down. Huge difference between those 2 situations.

My USC guy thinks Goodman is ours if we want him unless something changes from USC's perspective and maybe even then. Willis is the one we'll have to fret over because USC will not turn him away unless they choose McQuay over him.

Well Nkemdiche is an obvious take but I'm not counting on him.

RSJ is a take but we got a great WR class and I'm not counting on him either.

So taking out those two my favorite 9 would be:

1.) Tim Williams - Great talent at a need position and he is home grown

2.) Greg Gilmore - Versatile D-line with a lot of talent

3.) Scott Pagano - This kid's film is beastly and if Gilmore wouldn't be reppin LSU hard, Pagano would be my second.

4.) Desean Smith - game changer at TE and a Louisiana boy

5.) Torrodney Prevot - D-line, D-line, & more D-line. Super fast DE with comparisons to Mingo

6.) Preist Willis - If we can pull him off the West Coast that would be awesome

7.) Ricky Jefferson - This kid is highly athletic and would be a great fit in our secondary.

8.) Melvin Jones - This kid is a better LB than a few LSU took last year. He would a great piece for Chavis to have

9.) Daniel Carlson-Kicker - though this class is shaping up great and I would love to add Goodman, Beckwith, or Robinson. 2014 is gone to be a banner year for LSU in recruiting as well and we could get LSU next great Kicker and Fullback this year, to go along with Reid Fergunson, last years deep snapper. Save a spot for a punter next year and you never miss a beat on the underated positions that are so vital to success on the field

At this point, I wouldn't discourage Beckwith from looking real hard at Bama. That's just me.

It sounds like he will be a real project on defense.
