Shouldn't we have someone else recruiting Amite?

he and O were at 2019 QB Gunnels house or school together just the other day.

Where did you see that Canada was with O on the Gunnel visit? I read Canada had recruited him previously and that Gunnel really liked Canada’s system and was part of the reason he’s considering LSU. The recent visit by O did not include Canada and Gunnel’s HS coach commented what a good pair O and Canada were at LSU in a tweet. He later found out there might be issues between the two and stated that they’d have to re-evaluate the situation if and when a new OC is named should Canada move on.

Bottom line, if the rumors aren’t true then O needs to address them when it gets to the point that major players in a recruits decision are hearing the uncertainty and speaking about it. In this case It’s all Jimbo and others need to hold a kid who’s already committed to A&M.

I'm not saying you're making anything up. I'm saying that I've read three or four threads calling Canada being out recruiting a "fool's errand" all started by different people. So, it just seemed like the posters were all getting their information from the same source and the rumor was perpetuating itself.

It's on two different pay sites and has been for some time. There is also a free article on SEC Country that talks about it in depth. And to the other poster that said Canada was with Coach O at the in home with Grant Gunnell, that is completely false

Insight into the Matt Canada situation
quote:

Matt Canada has been Gunnell’s primary recruiter for about a year, ever since he took over as the Tigers’ offensive coordinator. You’ll remember that in the spring, SEC Country documented the 4-star quarterback’s relationship with Canada, including Gunnell’s interest in the system and the two playing a game of HORSE at the school last offseason.

quote:

Little did the coach realize all of the storylines surrounding the coach and coordinator’s relationship.

quote:

“I’ve been so engrossed with game planning and the state semifinals, I didn’t have a clue what was going on with Canada and Coach O,”

quote:

As far as how that could go into Gunnell’s decision to stick with Texas A&M or de-commit and re-consider the Tigers, Canada’s role could weigh heavily. “He liked him a lot,” said Hill. “Obviously, it would all depend on who they hired as offensive coordinator. That’s what he liked about LSU, so now it would all depend on the coordinator and how he fits into the scheme.”

I'm not sure why you have such a big problem with people relaying accurate info

I don't and this is the best information you've provided to date. In your other posts you seemed unable to get past the fact that Canada wasn't visiting Rogers and Foster, and my point was that wasn't a big deal and they spent time with Canada on their official visits.

As for the accuracy of this information, how do you know this is accurate and not simply negative recruiting, or message board rumors taking on a life of their own?

I don't think it's that uncommon for top coordinators to want to seek head coaching positions. So why is it such a huge deal if Canada wants to be a head coach? Why does Canada wanting to be a head coach mean that Orgeron's forcing him out? Because Orgeron said he supported Canada in his goal and hoped he got a job? What boss wouldn't support an employee who was able to move on to a higher position?

The bottom line is, there are very few people who know the truth about Canada's relationship with Orgeron, so everything is pure speculation.

And I really do not buy that Canada recruiting Cameron Rising and Matthew Baldwin is a "fool's errand". You can read my post in the other Canada thread for more of my thoughts on that (as if you care, haha).

Because the people saying it are mods/reporters that speak with the coaches, not message board posters

Most LSU fans think it's a huge deal if the hot name OC we hired to fix our inept offense leaves after one year. Why is it such a big deal that people discuss whether or not they think it may happen on an lsu message board created to discuss lsu sports?

If Canada does leave, and the Mississippi St. situation that occurred during that game comes out, you'll see things a lot differently.

Great. I'm sure some people feel the same. Others don't. But how dare anyone discuss it right? Because you don't like it or agree with it?
