Juice Williams was the best I saw personally.
Cecil Collins had it all at Leesville, a man among boys.

Leroy Hoard, St Aug/Mich/Browns, Vikings
Roynell Malcolm, Ouachita/Auburn
Jimmy Williams, Episcopal/Vandy/seahawks. niners
Gregg Dubroc, Curtis/Lsu/Giants (LB)
Reggie Dupard, Curtis/SMU/Patriots, redskins
are some nobody mentioned...
As far as accolades, it has to be Jimmy Taylor, NFL hall of Famer.
Marshall Faulk will be a HoF'er too

wasn't Carey a QB in high school.. I think Tony Moss broke some records, but was primarily at QB too, I think.
probably the best I ever saw in person was Joe Delaney.

That would be Roymon Malcolm of Ruston High.

Mark Henderson could have been if he had any sort of a brain.

What a pity that memory fades of the greatest running back in La history - could have gone to the olympics as a sprinter or a shotputter in 1960 - Billy Cannon

I don't know about best only because the list is soo long, but man this guy would be hard to argue with. Also the best team ever in this state.

Who in your estimation was the best running back to come out
of Louisiana? The best I had to play against was Eddie Fuller and Buford Jordan's little brother who was paralyzed in a car accident, I think his name was Issiac. Best I ever saw was Cecil Collins.

Malcolm played for the 98 WM team?

no love for old school RBs in this

Best I saw in high school would be Jamie Spencer, Mark Henderson, Toefield, Cecil, and Minor. Best to come out of LA is Marshall Faulk, no doubt about it.

that '98 West Monroe team was fierce
couldn't throw the ball worth a shite but WM has never had any real passing QBs... just some ole country boys that get it done in a running offense
Corey "Beer Belly" Black was my favorite

Except in 98. Marcus Turner, wide receiver, was the 5A Offensive MVP with over 1,300 yards receiving.

This guy was a pretty damn good back in HS and was as good as any I've seen up through his jr year. Missed his senior yr with an ACL injury. Had he not torn the other one during the SEC champ game in '01, no telling how good he could have been. Still has LSU record for TDs in a a season with 19.

doesn't mean he had a good QB... they just were good enough to having some passing opportunities
from Black, to the boy from Farmerville that Shows recruited, to that kid who was a good baseball player about 5 years ago, etc. ...none of them could throw much
I remember the Farmerville recruit came in with some hype as a passer at Cedar Creek but was a bust in 5A... Maxey Causey was probably the best passer and he didn't even start and had the athleticism of a bowler
