From LSU:
Jimmy Taylor
Billy Cannon
Jerry Stovall
Dalton Hilliard
Kevin Faulk
Dom Davis (Allen)
Out of those, Jimmy Taylor. (I had Charles Alexander in here originally. I always forget he was from Galveston.) There's just too little information on Cecil Collins - he had a couple of great college games, and did make it in to the NFL. He did nothing, as a career, "out of high school" to be compared to any of the other guys mentioned on this list.
Non-LSU
Marshall Faulk
Warrick Dunn
Travis Minor
Anthony Thomas
Brandon Jacobs
Out of these, Marshall Faulk stands out.

Brandon Jacob's senior year in high school was sick. Over 3000 yards rushing at over 8 ypc.

Brandon Jacobs rushed for 3028 yards and 38TDs........
I'll take him.

Josh Reed was a pretty good running back out of high school

I saw Cecil Collins play at Leesville and at LSU. The Leesville game was the most dominating performance I have ever seen by a high school player. His shining moment at LSU, the Auburn game when he ran for around 250 yards, was one of the best games by a college RB I have ever seen. Now he is in prison. What a waste.

LSU wanted Faulk only as a DB.
you don't remember Hallman's stable of RB's he recruited in 91'?

Coming out of high school - Cecil Collins
Not sure Marshall Faulk was heavily recruited as a RB. I think Curly Hallman recruited Faulk as a DB

Without a doubt it has to be Cecil The Diesel Collins.
Unfortunately he was such a head case and what a waste of so much god given talent...

I think Brandon Jacobs was just as good if not better than Collins in HS FWIW IMO

At his best, Marshall Faulk was the best in the NFL. He was a better RB than Cecil.
