Recruiting Roundup: Who Could Be Next For LSU Football?
The Tigers begin shifting focus to official visits this fall, key targets emerging.
* ZACK NAGY55 MINUTES AGO
Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers are set to see a few major dominoes drop in the 2024 class with this staff hoping they fall their way.
With two high four-star prospects revealing their decisions within the next two weeks and another key 2025 prospect trending their way, it’s about to be a busy stretch for this program on the recruiting trail.
What’s the latest buzz surrounding the Tigers?
A look into three prospects Kelly and Co. are turning up the heat for:
Blake Ivy - 2024 Offensive Tackle
The four-star offensive lineman out of Texas is set to announce his college decision on Saturday with LSU battling against Texas A&M for his services.
One of the top uncommitted prospects left on the board, the Tigers are coming in hot for the Top 10 lineman in the nation.
Ivy is a Top 120 prospect in America with versatility up front. He can play tackle and guard with offensive line coach Brad Davis keeping his foot on the gas for Ivy as the hours dwindle until he reveals a commitment.
A player who’s been a Texas A&M lean, LSU is giving its final pitch with less than 24 hours until a commitment.
Devin Harper - 2025 Offensive Lineman
Harper is quickly making a name for himself on the recruiting trail with LSU getting in on the action early.
A rising junior, Harper is now seeing the top SEC programs heat up as they battle to make their pitches.
For LSU, the Tigers sit in great position for one of Louisiana’s Top 10 prospects in the 2025 class. A player who has already been seen repping LSU gear during scrimmages ahead of his 2023 season, Harper could be trending the Tigers way, but it’s a long way out for Harper.
We could see him shut his recruitment process down early, but a player that won’t put pen to paper until December of 2024, it’s a long term plan for the Tigers as they look to continue separating themselves from the competition.
Harper has reeled in offers from LSU, Florida, Georgia and Oklahoma, among others as his process heats up in a big way.
Dominick McKinley - 2024 Defensive Lineman
This is where things get tricky. The No. 1 player in Louisiana, LSU has its foot on the gas for the high four-star prospect with a commitment date inching closer on Sept. 1.
McKinley has taken his fair share of visits with his most recent trip being to Baton Rouge at the end of July.
The Tigers have put themselves in contention alongside Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M as this program looks to keep the top prep player home.
There’s buzz surrounding Ohio State and Texas for McKinley, but there’s still time left on the clock with several programs pushing for one of the top defensive linemen in America.
LSU has secured commitments from eight of the state’s Top 10 prospects with the only two to not pledge to Brian Kelly being Wardell Mack (Florida) and McKinley (uncommitted).

I’ll start a Texas Sucks chant so Dominick doesn’t feel left out then. But yea I do hope JuJuan does good also.

Should be a good game if the Acadiana secondary hangs in there. The front seven should be salty.

Should be a great game I think. Acadiana had something like 10 sophomores playing most of last year. As good as they’ll be this year, they’ll be even better next year with 14 starters returning.
And even if Dominick picks Texas Sept 1, he can always change his mind. JuJuan was committed to Colorado not too long ago.

I really wouldn’t worry about this one, too many other players.
His high school has a ton of talent, they will be more players.
Glad to see how this one ends in another 3 or 4 years.
