Yes it was a rough day. Yes we were irritated. Yes people were lied to.
This board celebrates those committed and speculates on those not. Most agree that it's best to leave it to the coaches. These guys get paid MILLIONS and hundreds of thousands of dollars to do what they do. I find it highly unlikely that we are going to head into National Signing day with 7 spots open and are just going to "wing it". At this point we don't have a luxury of "holding spots". It's hard nosed hair on fire recruiting right now. I think we land 4-5 more. And regardless of who those are, this class is unbelievable.

I enjoy this board because there is usually some pretty good sources to information that I can't get since I live out of the BR area. Keep this board free of lies. Speculate if you want. But no need to all out lie just to make your point 'fair'.

I'm glad you think I'm a decent poster, but I'm not mad about recruiting. This is probably the best recruiting class we've had in the Miles' era, and I think we finish with the #2 class this year. Sucks losing the other guys, but I'm not sweating it.
I am irked by people on this board that act like babies when someone posts something that rubs them the wrong way. I didn't even say anything negative; I just pointed out that the coaches don't "know" that any of the seven remaining spots are filled. There's nothing false about that statement, yet balloon knots like RAT have a baby because they think I'm being negative. It's not like I'm spewing negative propaganda; I'm just pointing out what happened earlier this month for those that are putting the cart before the horse.

You mocked an opinion aka a flame.
We have differing opinions. As I've stated I don't feel (key word) that there are 7 spots open. I could be wrong. But I also feel that if 7 spots are open that the coaches didn't do their job. This is an elite program with elite coaches. I am pretty sure they are doing their job.

Yeah, because there's links floating around with quotes from them saying we'd get those guys. When have you ever seen a quote from a coach saying they'd get a player before he committed? It was posted on multiple recruiting sites from multiple analysts that LSU would at least get 4/5, if not 5/5. The guys that run these sites have sources inside the athletic department and football team.
If you need further proof, why are we scrambling to fill the remaining seven slots? The coaches reserved three spots for Noil, Willis and Brown and expected to land those guys. It's pretty common knowledge that LSU expected to get more than Fournette and Adams on 1/2.

And I think that's fair. A lot of us do mention 1/2 but it's not because we're being whiny. It's because it highlights the uncertainty of recruiting. The coaches were certain that they had players in the bag when in fact they didn't.
All of us are happy about the haul we're bringing in but I think more than a few of us cringe nowadays when we see things like someone's a lock or they're just trolling. Just because the coaches think one way doesn't mean we have to think the same way. The coaches probably think they're never out of it with a kid, but they HAVE to think that way because they're the ones recruiting these guys. For the rest of us I think it's ok to be cautiously optimistic and not always be quick to drink the kool-aid.
