When's the last time LSU won a National Championship with a 5 star QB?
How many "true 5 star" QBs have won a BCS National Championship?
Even better question... How many have even played in a BCS championship game? (the stars are kind fuzzy when it gets to the early 2000s)

Last five-star QB recruit was RP. Last guy who was considered a pure pocket passer that was of that caliber (not sure if they had the star rating system at the time?) was Josh Booty.

Probably hard to get a true pocket passer when you know the offense is primarily the running game.

Josh booty is the only one I can think of

Star system is one of the worst things ever cause in college your just another player cause everyone is good it gives these young kids false hope the lights shine alil brighter in college an the game moves alil faster so the stars are basically useless high school accomplishments at best.

What's the point of having a Peyton manning type qb when our option qb's work so well

I thought Russell was a 5-star?

Does a concave-chested decommit to Notre Dame count?

What was Mett rated in high school?
4 star? I know for sure that he was the top-rated JUCO QB.

I think Jamarcus was a 6.0 four star which is a close to five star as you can get.

Wasn't Hayden Rettig regarded as the best qb in his class but the knee injury hurt his rankings?

Bert Jones was very highly touted. Few had the kind of zip on the ball that Jones had. LSU had some good ones but Risher and Hodson never had the big arms. Jones, Mettenberger, and now Harris have, i guess you could say, professional arms with high velocity.

When have you seen any QB resemble a Peyton Manning in the last 10 years???? You may say Luck, but he was college Manning with the addition of dangerous mobility. Dude was a dual threat.
You may get some decent pocket passers, but the best pocket passers are in systems where they pass a shite ton, so are they good, or just products of the system? LSU is recruiting some serious dual threat QBs with accuracy. That is the QB you want in today's game.
We sold Mett, but he came out of JUCO and first initially went to UGA (a school prior to this year, that passes a lot). Bridgewater, a top shelf pocket passer, went to Louisville.
