Yes, they are a successful program. But we are too. What do Louisiana kids really see in Alabama that's not at LSU? Alabama is a worse state with lil to none excitement. Tuscaloosa is much smaller than Baton Rouge. New Orleans is a much more exciting city than fkn Birmingham. I could see losing Louisiana kids to Texas, but Alabama??? It's boring as fk out there. I just don't see the excitement for Alabama for a Louisiana kid. They are winning now, but once Saban leaves or retires, they will go back to average/good. I guess we just have to beat those clowns regularly to win our state back.

Bandwagon effect. In the nineties it was FSU. A certain number of kids will want to leave the state, and they'll gravitate to what's perceived as the hot program. We just have to beat them a couple of times and this will take care of itself. We got screwed on the BCS in 2011, and last year we were oh so close. They look vulnerable this year, and they'll be breaking in a new QB next year. Beat them two in a row and all the bandwagon fans will put the Bama gear back in the closet.

The hatchet job that those assclowns at espn pulled to get bama in the bcs game certainly isn't helping the LSU recruiting efforts. What's crazy is that LSU has had all the pressure on their shoulders the last two times we've played, even though we weren't favored to win because everyone at LSU is sick of hearing about bama's mythical dominance. Even with the deck stacked in their favor they've lost the last two years and lost 3 in 2010.

But to recruits, bama looks invincible at this point due to 3 out of last 4, and its going to be a real uphill battle to change that because of the momentum of their program. On top of that, they're fixing schedules, dictating recruiting rules, REC, whatever they have to do to win. Because if they start losing, a lot of the shady stuff that they're doing will be brought to light. The people in t-loosa are no better than the ones in auburn. They just have more money.

They're still the most crooked program in history but right now they're on top, and you can thank Luginbill, Herbstreit and May, among others, for helping to set them up to get to this point.

At least the bcs committee recognized the political bullshite those guys pulled and immediately met to establish a playoff so that no one can be gifted into the big game again. That took a lot of power away from guys who should be analyzing the games instead of choosing favorites.

But for now, bama gets all the love. LSU just needs to win and things will return to order. Plain and simple. Just win baby.

Neither Tuscaloosa or BR are great, don't make it sound like he picked Detroit over Paris.

If you read the OT, you won't see much love for BR. Nobody's claiming BR is better than Tuscaloosa, but it's not worse, either.

It's not about where they play, it's about how they recruited.

Alabama gave Landon Collins gf (Rofl having a gf when going to college) a scholarship to volleyball or basketball or something.

They got Cameron Sims on board knowing he was the piece needed for Robinson. The only real justice out of all this is that Sims will just be processed and moved down the depth chart because he sucks. Well, until he transfers to ITT Tech or something.

Also, look at the pros of going to Bama.

1. You're never called for holding.
2. Your team gets to pick their own schedule.

Long time ago before the Interstate there was a Two Lane Road and I think it was like 11 and 59. Anyway you had to drive through Tuscaloosa and by the Alabama Campus and you also had to drive through Downtown Birmingham. I hated that drive and Tuscaloosa was a dump then. I said why would anyone want to go to school here? I still think it is a dump! I was never impressed with any of that country and hated driving through it. I used to drive the other way through Montgomery just to avoid Tuscaloosa. I had rather drive by Auburn than Alabama!

Yea personally I'd rather be in Tuscaloosa over BR any day. I fvcking despise what BR has become.

Tuscaloosa is actually a pretty nice college town, and there are tons of Louisiana kids who go there outside of football as well.

And a lot of Alabama kids go to LSU outside of football. What's your point?

It's a fad, just like Texas, USC, FSU, Michigan, and the Miami were..

Truthfully, ESPN has a lot to do with it.

Yea, they all have tradition (more than LSU) but Bama is the "in" program, right now.

College football is cyclical. Saban is going to retire and there will be another program that goes on a hot recruiting tear.

To look at it in a positive light, LSU has never been that "it" school.. and we've competed with and bested a lot of those mentioned.

LSU is gaining a national recruiting base. Lets see what the next few years bring. We'll always be able to survive on local talent. Those others have to fight for it.

Again, blame ESPN.. You can sit there and say it's BS but as a high school football player/recruit, you're subconsciously thinking/being told that Bama is the place to be. Just like USC was a decade ago. As soon as Saban got hired, Alabama was shoved down the nations throat. All you heard about was Bama.

They have pretty much have the best facilities in college and kids are going first round to the draft and not to mention they are winning championships and being coached by One of the best coach's in college, in little Nicky. But we have to start beating them year end and year out.

Also, we can't forget that it is a financial/business decision. In Cam Robinson's case, Bama has had A LOT of 1st round picks, from their O-line.

On the contrary, LSU has failed to get our O-linemen drafted high.

Call it a string of bad luck, tho. We have had talent that could've gone really high, they just got hurt, or had poor senior seasons.

Sims does not suck! We just didn't have room for him, this year.

The top pick of the last Draft was from Central Michigan and played OT. I guess they just didn't have a WR spot available in this year's class to get Cam.

I agree Sims is a beast in a loaded class of WR. I think the kid fits best with the Gumps anyway & I wish him & C.Rob the best. Who ever says Sims suck have got to be a fricking retard. These kids read this board you know, who in the hell would want to come to a school where fans & LSU supporters are already saying such negative things about them already & they haven't played a down yet. Before you open you big mouth about any recruit, you should think that what you say may turn them off from committing to this great university.

absolutely nothing.

saban is known as this great recruiter and coach and bc of it.. he draws in a ton of recruits and they become successful. it's simply the winning and current national perception.. but it can fade VERY fast.. and it will again.

I believe we're seeing the beginning of it now. This will be an underachieving year, and a guy like Saban can't afford that. He wore out his welcome at LSU, and the only reason he hasn't done it at Bama is because they've kept winning. A subpar season, and all the people he's pissed off will come out of the woodwork, just like they did at LSU.
