You are f'n nuts. Auburn is maybe an hour from ATL. The school has an assload of Georgia peaches who are gorgeous. Personally, I think the girls are hotter in Auburn than Tuscaloosa.

you don't know how to read

BR is 7th per capita. it's an urban area, but BR is rather geographically segregated, so you honestly just need to avoid north BR

so basically this thread is bizarro BR-Nola threads

i still don't see how going to the country is a selling point for a college student. for a 60 year old? ok. for an 18-23 year old? what the hell?

We've recruited very well up until these last few years, and I attribute that dropoff to Nick Saban being at Alabama, and a dropoff in how well Auburn teams have performed on the field.

I guess some people just like that kind of atmosphere.

Its called the college experience. Most people will end up working in big metropolitan areas the rest of their lives. College is about getting away. Small college towns are not bad.

i mean take a guy like lache...he has his choice of austin, BR, or auburn

i don't see BR winning that war, and i don't see why auburn is even on the radar

1 more thing..I have been to both Auburn & Starkville & Starkville isn't even on the same playing field with Auburn. Yes, I know they are both small towns, but the enrollment, location to GA, fan support, stadium size, bars, girls, ect. are way above Starkville.

just how there isn't much of a difference in the stadiums of like AU, LSU, UF, etc, there isn't much of a difference in country vs country

You alreeady admitted that you've never been there so how would you know? Dude, most people in BR, especially the football players, only frequent like the same 3 bars all through college: Freds, Reggies, & Bogies. There are at least 3 nice bars in Auburn. Besides partying with good looking women & playing major college football, what else would you want out of a college. Believe me, the college experience is not meant for big cities. You think Tulane has the same college atmosphere as an Ole Miss or an Auburn? shite, USC doesnt have the college type feel as those two schools.

cities can greatly enhance the college experience. for what it's worth tulane has made princeton review's "top college towns" and "happiest students" lists for as long as i can remember

Yeah & Loyola also made top party scools. Anyone born & raised in Nola knows that it isnt a college town.

Should LSU use the nightlife in TX to promote it's school?

A town of 80k people in bumfrick LA is the epitome of the middle of nowhere.

But back to the thread. Auburn might get a couple of highly rated guys. You basically started this thread because of one guy. And that kid would be stupid to go to LSU anyways. When is the last time LSU featured a back like Seastrunk?

Auburn isn't that bad for a college town either.

you're missing my point. the college experience in a city >>> college experience in the middle of nowhere. if you look at their "top college town" list the top ten includes NYC, san fran, dc, and austin. those rankings are based on student surveys; they don't just randomly choose what they think are the best places to go to college

I wasn't talking about the nightlife. I was talking about it is such a big school because of its location to GA, specifically ATL. If it was in the middle of Bama close to nowhere then I'm sure it have a harder time atracting the majority of kids in alabama, due to U of A.
