What percentage of early commitments stick?

I can't seem to find any statistics on the likelihood that an early commitment ends up signing with that team.
Folks are always whining and complaining about players not honoring verbal commitments, but it seems to me like the percentages vastly favor the team with the early commitment. Perhaps over 80%?
Can anyone like some research to confirm?

Not sure the data behind it but in my opinion it was rare unless a coach got fired (HC or sometimes position)
But now with NIL anything can happen

I don't think anyone has actually researched that.
That would require a lot of time, & no one would pay them to do it.

I kinda thought one of them had done it recently.

What is an early commitment?

Recruiting sites are the only ones that could actually do it. Nobody else can actually remember all that, but they should have it stored in memory.

Doesn’t even matter. All that matters in this age of college football is “does your team have momentum right now?”

There will always be 2 or 3 that we asked to look elsewhere later on

NIL makes anything in the past not worth comparing. Totally different dynamic.

Here is your research frick off

I would say in the world of NIL they probably stick pretty well. I’m sure they are signing a contract of some sort before they commit. At least for the big time recruits.

I’ve been paying attention to recruiting for a long time.l would say the 90% mark is a good number, maybe even a little low. Staying with your verbal is the norm.As long as mama is in Mississippi, we’re good with Jason, like the fact that he’s a early enrollee.

All commitments are EARLY commitments, they’re are verbals, nobody is on team until inking their name on Team letterhead.

Why has this board gotten so nasty and toxic over the last couple years?
