We need an LSU-wide recruiting news turnaround today

I am going to be quite deflated if I’ve spent the last 4 days feverishly reading about Burrow and imagining LSU’s ceiling with him this year and next, only to see him opt for focking Cincinnati.

Shea posted it this morning. There was a thread on tRant but it was whacked.

Isn't Dixon's wife employed within the football program in a media operations position of some sort? Or at least used to be? Either way, you think he would have some degree of inside connection.

That aside, in recent times generally when we've seen somewhat wide ranging reports of "negative" information (at from LSU's perspective), the report usually turn out to be accurate. The most recent I can remember are:

1. Ensminger likely to be named OC. There were plenty of people on here who said that was complete BS...until it happened.

2. Surtain to Bama. Most thought that was unthinkable in light of the fact he had been an LSU "commit" for 2 years...until it happened.

I don't even pretend to know what this kid will do. But I've learned from experience that usually where there is smoke, there's fire. All a reporter has (or at least used to) is his/her credibility. I can't imagine these folks would be going public with the information unless they felt there was at lease some substance to it.

Whooaaa!! I feel like both of y’all are right in some sort of fashion.

I would assume the difference is, at Cincy "even though they have a returning starter - Hayden Moore" the coaches have probably said that if he commits to Cincy even though he will have to compete the job is his to lose. Where at LSU I would assume the coaches have said he has an equal opportunity to win the start job along with the 3 current QB's.

So his Dad probably wants his kid to basically have the job and his to lose, rather than he has to earn the starting position at LSU.

That's what you get for following it so closely. I only saw it mentioned here the past week but haven't even looked at information past it. You're setting yourself up for disappointment constantly whether we land these guys or not. I've stopped following LSU recruiting so closely until the dotted lines are signed. There's little to get excited about in LSU athletics these days anyway.

Dude, get over yourself! Where did I say anything in my post or indicate in anyway that I was “following it so closely,” or would be “disappointed” if we don’t get either player?

You act as if I said I would be crushed or pissed if it doesn’t happen. In fact, I even pointed out that neither player is a “must get,” but would be good gets if we happen to get them.

And if you have “stopped following LSU recruiting on here,” then why the hell are you reading and responding to a post in the damn recruiting board?

So, as always, Shea is clueless in a big recruiting battle. They give him bits and pieces every now and then, usually to make LSU look good, but he’s as good as any here as far as actual knowledge.
