We have 2 Heisman winning QBs in 5 years that came out of nowhere

Kids like Bryce almost never work out. I'm not even sunshine pumping when I say I can literally care less where he goes.

Problem is you have to hope someone is available in the portal and then you're going to have to outbid everyone else for him. You know with Underwood he was about as sure a thing coming out of HS as you could get on the HS ranks.

Obligatory, "How much less."

Kids like Bryce Underwood are rare

Or perhaps one of our other 3 quarter backs becomes very good.

Yeah, that's a little too optimistic at this point. They have 0 experience and are not pushing Nuss right now for a reason lol. In a few years? Maybe. Next year? No.

Nah, we see kids every recruiting cycle flip, this is nothing new.
What’s becoming rare is loyalty and honoring your word.

You don’t see many QBs of his caliber in high school. It’s a huge miss

It's not though. It's been like 12 years since "no chest" Gunner Kiel.

Still don’t get this cope. #1 overall recruits typically do work out at the college level.
Relying on transfer portal QBs is why we don’t sustain much elite success.
I am all for the next great transfer QB though.

Re-worded, they don't work out pretty much as often as they do. It's a coin flip. in 20 years we went to 4 national championships, have had two heisman winning QBs, three QBs drafted either #1 or #2 in the draft, and none of them were the top recuit.
Jamarcus was closest at #4 overall QB.
The highest rated QB we've recuited in that stretch was Russell Shepard, who didn't even finish college as a QB.
The point is, if we suck for the next three years, it 100% won't be becuase Bryce Underwood decided to take $12 million to go hand the ball off at Michigan for three years.

I'm an optimist. If you want to wake up with a good attitude everyday, you have to be. Specially living in Louisiana and pulling for the Tigers and other local teams.

Recruiting seems to be developing into two methods. You either have the money to pay for elite recruits out of high school or you rely on the transfer portal to get the disenchanted players who aren't working out at the school they initially signed with.

Back then decommitting was the exception , today it's the rule.
