Serious question, how well would "intellectual property" hold up in court if said information is the whereabouts of a minor?
Probably wouldn't hold much water in this instance.

These lists are posted weekly here. Not sure why you are upset. It’s not secret info what recruits are at the game.

Isn’t this Gilbert’s 3rd time visiting in the last month and a half ?
Awesome

They are always posted here, which is what is rather bothersome. Nobody makes these visitors list public. They are copied and pasted by others. It's really no different than if someone took quotes from a premium article and posted it. TD even has rules regarding this stuff, but being that this has become such the norm, I am not sure they even recognize what is going on here.
Just because it happens frequently doesn't make it okay. And just ot clarify, I am not "upset" about the matter. I am simply trying to bring attention to the fact that this list was posted as premium by someone else, only for a guy to copy the list and blast it in Instagram, resulting in it ending up here. Furthermore, the only reason it isn't secret is because people take premium content and share it.

I'm with Jimmy, it is not okay to copy and paste from premium sites.

Is Caleb Williams not visiting this week anymore?

Or you could come here provide value & increase your reader views and make money on the back end after providing value.
BUT HEY! That’s not my business ;)

Nothing different than the advocate putting their articles behind a paywall and then people talking about it here.

Would it be better if he gave someone credit for the list?
I thought Dandy Don’s site posted the visitors for each home game?
I understand premium info and that’s how some make their living, but this is a visitors list of who’s attending the game.
LSU should be posting this themselves as it benefits them public relations wise for fans to know what recruits will be attending.
I’m not trying to be a smartass here, I just didn’t realize a list of recruits visiting was such a touchy subject, I always figure it was given out freely.

It’s not a big deal nor is it a crime or wrong in any way. Jimmy got his feelings hurt bc he didn’t have his coffee yet.
Beyond that you’ve always got your band of a few who choose to pay $10/month to get “inside info” that becomes public knowledge in a matter of hours at the latest who throw a fit bc someone took info from their exclusive board.
It’s rather comical.

I think there is a big difference between an article or interview and a list of prospects attending a game. Claiming the latter as some sort of intellectual property is utterly ridiculous.

This is the age of social media where a lot of kids announce beforehand which school they are visiting.

I disagree in many regards. Firstly, my feelings aren't hurt. This isn't even my work that I am trying to protect here.
Secondly, the info available here doesn't rival (no pun intended) the stuff on our boards. Some makes its way here, but not most of it. And many of the finer details are often missing.
Finally, it's not comical to me, because this is how we feed our families. TD doesn't think it's funny, which is why they have strict guidelines about this type of stuff. It's just no fair to everyone that does the work and I will never apologize for standing up for them (me). In no other line of business would this type of stuff be considered acceptable, but because of the ease in painting the media as a villain, it is rampant. Doesn't mean it is right.
Anyway, not the biggest of deals, but it is important to me and most of my colleagues. I just choose to do what I can about it, which is rather limited, hence my plea in this thread.

You’re lying.
I subscribe to 247 because I like to hear from Shea on the forums. Worth $10 for me.
But about 90-95% of the info makes it here.
I’ll also say that TD Insider VolTiger knows more than anyone over there except Shea.
So by your logic, voltiger should start a subscription service?

Okay, buddy. I am sure you know more than I do about this matter.
I don't know what you're looking for here. I simply posted that the list someone compiled for their premium platform was being shared by you and it wasn't cool. You then enlightened me as to where it originated, which I acknowledged. Your argument that 90-95% of his info ends up here proves my point and is not a solid defense.
No need for all this other nonsense. Have a good day.
